Default Which have you McLeod users gone, Billet Aluminum or Billet Steel flywheel

Purchasing my RXT clutch setup and was going with the aluminum flywheel. Now I'm getting feedback that to prevent chatter or get less of it on my 2009 Z06 that I should go with a steel billet flywheel.

What are your thoughts or experience ?

Thanks!

Steel billet here. It is common knowledge that the aluminum fw will take some of the inertia away from the engine. The chances for having to rev the engine higher from a dead stop are greater and thus the chance of shudder as well. As it is the rxt is lighter than the oem even with the steel billet flywheel. Oem is around 54-56 pounds and rxt is 36-40 pounds.

I went ahead and contacted Hinson and changed to a Billet Steel Flywheel. Car is going to be a street driven car and want to try and keep it as smooth as possible.

Good deal! I got about 50 more miles to finish the break in on my rxt. So far I love it.

I have steel billet and would have gone with aluminum had I bought the clutch. the difference in weight is minimal. had this clutch at ~750whp for 1k miles or more so far and love it, feels stock and should take ~1k whp without too much issue.
