It was fun racing tonight! Ran a drag car on my 10.80, not listed and he ran 11s.

That happens, just be respectful of other racers. I really have no desire to talk with guys that have more money on their trailer than motor/setup, but a lot of old school guys get their fix running bracket cars, high 10 to 12 second passes. In 17 years of racing, I just acknowledge and respect them. Have zero in common with them.

that's awesome great job!

Your MPH 1/8th and 1/4mi is about on par with where I'm at. Gives me an idea where I'm at if I actually put a sticky tire on board. Enjoy the power and I wish everyone else who was scared of meth wouldn't be. It's the best!!!

You are totally right! I bet it was a bracket car. I talk to anyone at the track and try to learn and share my experiences with others. I'm a humble guy and was actually talking with a father and son about their bone stock 95 C4. Several people approached and I was always willing to tell them what I have done to the car. Some people never tell the truth about their combo.

Those are some nice times. I didn't see it mentioned but what tires are you running and do you know what your dyno #'s are?

Don't have a clue on numbers since mine was street tuned. I run MT DRs 275/40-17 on wagon wheels. I normally run gto spares on the front and last night I didnt. So that's another tenth or two and the same with mph.

Well I ran two more times but the traction went to crap. On my second pass the engine got to 225*f and I'm sure that it pulled some timing going by the trap speed. Still ran 10.87@128 with a 1.81 60'. Third pass ran 10.79@134 with a 1.88 60'.
On the very 1st pass I beat every part of my PB all the way to the 1/8 miles and then I lost mph, and I think it was due to the engine getting into the 220*f temps. My 1st and 2nd were with basically no cool down.

One more thing! I was kicked out of the track for running too fast with only a helmet. What are you guys that are running 10.99 and below are using as far as safety goes. I know I need an sfi jacket and a long list of safety stuff for the car.

Need a sfi fire jacket and helmet for faster than 11.50. After that you need a roll bar thatd be good till 10.0 or 135mph. In the nhra rules it states unmodified 2008+ cars do not need a roll bar for faster than 11.50. But some tracks will not enforce this if your car is a 2008 and modded.

I was able to dowload the 2015 rule book. The 2008+ rule applies to unaltered vehicles. Meaning a ZR1 bone stock with drag radials is ok to run 10.54@134 just like me, and somehow that car is going to survive a crash better than mine even thought is an 08. I purchased the protective xlothing required. The rest, I'm still thinking about it...

If the track really went by the book. A zr1 on drag radials is not considered stock and would need safety equipment. They actually pulled me aside last week after a 10.5 run and i talked to the tech and he said i was in the grey area with it being an 08 and modded. Technically i needed a roll bar but they arent crazy strict.

The same thing happened to me. I was given the chance to run again as long as I had an sfi jacket. I spoke with my wife and best friend and both opened my eyes. It's not about meeting the regulations, it's about my safety. I could be running just fine and the other lane gets out of control and hits me when we are doing 130+mph. Nothing good is going to come out of that.

I spoke with wolfe racecraft this morning and they offered me a good deal. So I may end up ordering their roll bar.
