That sucks but I'm pretty sure you knew that was coming one day doing what you're doing on the stock short block. Judging from what we see so far I'm betting something great will come out of this.

That does suck bro, time for a sick build! ERL?

I'm glad it failed in a non catastrophic manner for you though. That will make the rebuild a bit cheaper

Something wasn't right. Not sure what though. I'll make it better though. Luckily its winter time and I have months to finish it.

Do you have a wideband?
I'm a huge fan of dash logic + a wideband so you can keep an eye on AFR and know if it's picking up knock

Yeah, def need it. Especially on something like this that was no doubt pushing the stock bottom end (and shows signs of knock)
I'm using the plx 4.9 wideband and have had good luck with it. Had an innovate motor sports one before that and had a lot of problems.

I decided on which block to go with. I wanted keep the car numbers matching. I'm sending my block to ERL for a all aluminum 427ci 6 bolt block with 1/2" ARP head studs, dragon slayer crank, billet I beam rods and weisco pistons. Upgraded everything I could. I don't want to do this again. They claim they have cars with over 1800hp with this block. With a couple running 7's in the 1/4 mile. If you're familiar with the Ohio Boys or Ray Litz. This is the exact block they use. Still haven't decided on which 6 bolt heads I want to go with. For fuel I'm going with ID1700 injectors, triple walbro 485 pumps, controller, all stainless lines and fittings and all the wiring. This should be enough fuel to run E85 to 1600+hp. Once it's done it should look like the block below. They have finished short blocks but like I mentioned before. I want to stay numbers matching. Another thing I've been thinking about is upgrading to a F1x Procharger. There's a quite a few Vettes putting out 1400+rwhp with a good combination. I'll decide once I add up all the parts. Im currently using the 3.33 pulley. It's biggest pulley for my 2200r. So im basically barely using it to its potential. The car ran 10.4 @ 104mph hitting the brakes before 1000' mark. I feel if the track would of been better and I ran a full pass. I would of had a 9 second pass.

STRONGLY STRONGLY suggest doing a LSX over ERL.

I looked at all the options and went with LSX block. That's a bad a$$ fuel setup !
what kind of clutch are you going with? I went with mantic triple and nothing but good things to say so far.

Im curious why you changed your mind. I've seen you go back and forth between the two. As in my last thread you said you wish you would have went with ERL over your LSX. If you're worried about dropping sleeves. I'm friends Elliot Cambell. He's the shop manager at ERL. He said once they switched the design of the sleeves. It's nearly impossible to drop them. The ohio boys and ray litz also highly recommend them. I have no experience with either block.
