Has anyone noticed any measurable decrease in temps from doing this?

A-A-Ron, can I get a pic of the bottom of the close out panel? I am trying to decide if I won't to get that route and mod the panel to get the clearance needed.

Thanks

The car takes longer to get to higher temps in stop and go traffic. The huge different that I have notice is how much quicker the temp drop as soon you start moving

I made several other cooling related changes on my car since last summer, so I really have no idea how much the vent did or didn't help.

Any thoughts on if these vents effect the aerodynamics of these cars for better or worse? Gm spent alot of time designing the aerodynamics of this car......

Looks great! Any pics from under the hood so that we can see how you attached the vent to the hood? I see that you did not use the drip tray.

I highly doubt this changes the aero ... C6 wasn't designed like the C7 with a flow-through front fascia design.

a lot of the standing mile guys have found this reduces lift on the nose and the world challenge hoods, designed with countless trips at the track, basically do the same thing. well established that venting the hoods on the c6 make a big difference at speed.

Thats a good point. I was talking in sense of the 99% of us that won't be running a high speed mile ...

yeah, i think with 99% of drivers it's just for heat issues. i'll see how the aero impact is though, i will be doing a 1/2 mile event probably at 170mph i'm guessing in october and plan to do some hood vent setup like this sometime after, so will be interesting to see if notice any difference at whatever the next event i'm at is

Sorry, but pitched it lol..cut too much off to slim it down. Even with the higher cowl, I wasn't able to place it where I wanted to, so I didn't cut the new hood. Good thing too, because I had to return the hood. Gel coat started to bubble and I had some signs the fiberglass was cracking underneath. Only had it on the car for 5 days. Was already getting into hundreds of dollars just to repair it before it could be prepped and primed. Wish I could help. Looks like I'll be getting a ACS Composite L88 hood.
