Besides as you mention it seems to get a bit dirty. But cars been rained on or washed a thousand times with no failures or problems

Pics of yours?

I'll give an update as soon we hit our 100 plus summers here. But what I did notice quickly is that after driving the car hard and getting the temps to around 210 it will quickly drop down about 10 degrees. Before it will take along time to drop. Sometimes it wouldnt drop at all. So far its working. You also see the heat waves coming out the vent.. So its doing its purpose.

OP how did u handle underside? What happen to the underside of hood?
I removed the hood liner since it was damage before from a shredded belt but you can cut the hood liner but you will be cutting the Flag logo. I got some 1/8x3/4 aluminum sheet and folded some Z shape brackets and bolted it up using the stock vent bolts. I doesnt look as clean I wanted it to but I might redo it again once I can think of a cleaner idea. I post a pix of the inside in the my post

Thanks, ditto.

Not great. Should be a pic in the thread. I need to rattle can it black underneath and it would be pretty invisible.
