New ECS1500 results from the US Mile in Houston
Had a great time racing at the US Half Mile in Houston today. Since all the fast Vettes were scheduled to run at the Texas Invitational this weekend, the field was a little slower than normal, but that didn't keep us from having fun and running some new bests. My C6 Grand Sport Automatic ran 174.7mph in the half and 144.4mph in the 1/4. I was very pleased considering I'm still running the little ECS 1500 supercharger and not a YSi.
I recently added the new ECS Direct Drive 8 rib conversion utilizing an Innovators West 10% OD lower pulley. This is the super slick flip drive with a cogged best that drives the 6 rib accessory belt. My boost is running between 13-15psi now. For reference, my car is a 2013 Grand Sport Automatic with a forged 416, Trick Flow 255 heads, custom cam and ECS 1500. Still running stock 6L80 trans, stock torque converter and stock 2.73 rear end.
When I ran 199.8mph at the Texas Mile in October, my half mile speed was 169.7mph. So adding the new ECS Direct Drive added 2 lbs of boost and 5 more mph in the half (my belt is not slipping at high rpm any more which helps mph too). That would put my Mile trap speed in the 205-206 range which is not too shabby for how little I have invested in the car. There were lots of much more expensive cars going lots slower this weekend so I'm happy that the combo works so well.

Thanks Matt. Yes, it's pretty amazing that you can have trap speeds this high from such a small (but very efficient) supercharger. It is definitely the little blower that could. I am very happy to have chosen ECS for my supercharger provider. Love all their supporting mods too: The Stage 1 fuel system and the Direct Drive are especially nice when you have an engine capable of taking more boost.
I'm so happy that my automatic still shifts as fast as it does making all this power. Still bone stock and shifts are always between 100-200 milliseconds. Helps having 100% torque management on upshifts.

Congrats Pat.... and again thanks for tips and great cam specs you did for me. Working as good as any I have seen to date.

Crazy fast. My Ysi car was only doing 182-183.
I think the 1500 is a perfect setup and your results show it. Love the cogged ECS DD. Only way to run a c5/c6 blower kit.

That is super impressive with the 1500. I saw a silver Z06 427 F1X making 12xx running the same speeds. Not sure if he was traction/shifting limited. 174 with a 1500 is awesome.

nice job that's awesome!!!
Makes me feel good that I hit about right on my setup. Meth / Boost only (stock cam/clutch/block) did 162mph 1/2mi at 640rwhp on a Mustang dyno
