you guys are awesome and I shop at your store but is there a reason this isn't going on the classifieds section? it seems to clog the board up with irrelevant classifieds stuff, which is why there is a specific part of the forums for that, am I right?

Short answer - We target a our advertisements directly to the audience researching the product type via a limited & reasonable amount of threads in the subsections. This "sniper rifle" approach to targeting customers is better than shotgunning the market in a broad classifieds board. Our advertisements are relevant and often helpful for those doing research.
Long answer - These forums are not cheap, and they are supported financially by the sponsors and clickable advertisements by Google and other providers. The sponsors need an opportunity to post relevant products directly to the customer base shopping for the product type. Let's face it, the classifieds section do not get the same level of exposure. Less exposure = less sales = less sponsors = boards begin to suffer.
Example - www.LS1GTO.com has moved all sponsor threads to the classified section only. Most vendors have abandoned the board, and this board will cease to be "profitable" sooner rather than later (hint, it will die.). Without an return on investment, retailers cannot justify the expense of supporting the board with technical support (payroll), product development, and sponsorship dollars.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to PM or email me. I would prefer to leave the thread on topic.
