Default [VR] 891whp/786wtq ZR6X Supervette - RHS, MAST YSI - Pictures and Dyno Graph!

We have a long time friend and client of Vengeance Racing that has owned his C6 Z06 for awhile. He is a retired Command Sergeant Major from the US Army and he originally brought us his base C6 Z06 in for a VR custom cam shaft, ARH header system and an A&A V3 T-Trim supercharger system. That brought the car up a pretty good amount at the time but he ultimately he decided he wanted to go full out on this C6Z build.

The first step in the process was to drop the car off with Supervettes to give the car a wild look. He opted for the ZR6X conversion package and a set of Forgestar wheels to go with the new wide stance. Needless to say...he was able to go with some really deep concave wheels to complete the look.

After the visuals were completed with the outside, he brought the car back to us to really make it move as fast as it now looked. After some discussion on the options, we decided that a RHS 427 with some MAST heads and a YSI upgrade on the supercharger would get the job done. As you can probably imagine, the final result is a mean looking widebody C6Z that drives like stock and has great power to back it up.

Modifications installed:
  • RHS block - standard deck - 427c.i.
    - Manley Pro Series crankshaft
    - Callies Ultra H-beam rods
    - Wiseco custom pistons
    - Katech LS9 oil pump
    - Cloyes RHS timing set
  • MAST Motorsports 285cc LS7 cylinder heads
  • Vortech YSI head unit & 8-rib drive system upgrade from A&A
  • Alkycontrol dual nozzle methanol system
  • VR 1000cc Fuel Injectors
  • VR Custom Fuel System
  • Painted LS7 intake manifold
  • VR Valve covers

The result? 891.53whp and 786.90wtq! The best part is the car still drives on the street like stock.

Contact us at the shop for any questions on this build or any other C6/late model LS modifications.

Stunning build! What was the reason for ditching the LS7 block for the RHS?

Unfortunately no videos, but the customer has been thoroughly enjoying driving the car with the new power. The car doesn't see any track time, so a solid street car was the goal from the start with this combination.

Thank you! We do not like taking an LS7 block into this power level. The RHS was the best solution for a solid 6-bolt combination that still keeps weight down being an aluminum block. There are many other benefits to the RHS as well, but these two items were our determining factors in using it for the build.

Thank you! It is a 2.85" supercharger pulley with an Innovators West 10% overdrive balancer.

Did you guys go with the direct drive or just the standard 8 rib with the A&A bracket? Any belt slip

Default Really love my build from Vengeance.

I really love this build. As David mentioned, this was my third evolution in my quest for more RWHP. I started out with LS7 stock dyno numbers of 450 RWHP. My first stage III build was basically heads and cam and headers plus Vengeance tune. She made 600 RWHP. I drove that until I was pushing more than she would give so I came back for the A&A supercharger, double carbon RPS clutch, aluminum radiator etc, now pushing 751 RWHP on 6 lbs of boost. I shipped her to Supervettes in Florida and Jason Hunkler installed the ZR6X widebody kit and the Forgestar Super Deep concave wheels. Then I began wanting more power and Ron told me he wasn't comfortable pushing the LS7 any further. So I decided to go with a new RHS racing block, YSI, Trickflow heads and triple carbon RPS clutch, Alky methanol system etc. Also, love the Vengeance custom cam for this application. She's still running break-in oil right now but this car is a monster. I'll be taking her back after break in for tuning tweaks to get her to around 950 RWHP, but this is what I was really working towards over these last four years in terms of performance and body mods. Vengeance has really been great and out of all the mods they've done over the many years I've been dealing with them, I've been completely happy with the quality, expertise and customer service.
