Default ECS flip drive question

Who has them and do they work well? I assume it's a 10 rib to the SC if so do the ecs pulleys still work or do I need wider ones? I know the SC pulley will need to be new. I have a 1500, with the overdrive I will be at 56000 rpm at 6200 engine rpm. Anyone else spin them like this? Thanks!

Yep, not uncommon to spin them that high, or higher.

10 rib setups are not as popular because the 8 ribs do so well.

The ECS/Cartek flipdrive has a cog drive to the jackshaft, which is nice.

Any flip drive will work better than a standard belt because you effectively reduce the belt length by 50%, and you now have more wrap around everything.

Cool. My innovators west balancer cracked so I'm debating on the 10 or 8 od with the flip drive from ecs, how much do they charge for their version?

Send Matt at FSP a pm. He can get you a great deal and is in constant contact with the guys at ECS.

I wonder what caused the crack. There are a ton of people having good luck with the IW and that is what I ordered as well. Hope it was a fluke. The cogged flip drive also uses the IW damper.

Nothing wrong with Iw, I blew the bottom end and the parts jamming in the engine at 100mph violently snapped the timing chain and more than likely cracked the hub too.

Sorry to hear that. Glad the IW isn't a bad piece though.

Flip drive doesn't touch the SC belts and if you don't do the cogged ECS one doesn't mess with the crank pulley either.

I run the 10 rib cogged ecs version. Works great, no issues.

Default Help!!!! I keep losing my cog belt!!

I have this ECS flip drive installed on my car and it keeps eating the cog belt. I've gone through three of the cog belts so far now that its been installed. They seem to last maybe two to three months tops then as soon as I get on it the cog belt shreds into pieces and I'm left limping it home with no alternator or power steering. Nothing is seized up or seems to be misaligned. My car has spent more time in the garage then it has been driven since having this upgrade installed! I am not very impressed with it at all!!! I've emailed ecs about this issue but have yet to get a response.......

they can replace the hub for $75-100 or so, that might be a better option then buying a brand new balancer

My cog belt has a ton of miles, not a single issue. Something is wrong with your setup.

Hey unreal , what water pump do you you run or recommend for the ecs 10rib set up? I'm about to install mine and I have a 09 ls3 water pump with narrow pulley . Also anyone have the cog belt part number ? Can't get a return phone call from ecs for the info . Any help would be appreciated !

Yes I figured something is wrong with it, but what? Its chewing the teeth right off the belt. Its been like this since a local shop installed it.

thanks for the information ! Didn't think the ls7 pump could support anything over a 8 rib ,but obviously it's working for you . No issues ?

Zero issues.

I believe it has to be an early ls7 pump as they changed it in later years.

I didnt take his post as bad mouthing your shop. but if the belt is getting chewed up its getting chewed up.. could be install could be defective part.... either way your post shows your lack of professionalism I think you should delete it and take it to pms.
