i think it would be agood idea to put a washer between the bolt head and the bearing. then you can go in there with an openended wrench and hold the head while tightening the nut.

Is there enough room to space it out any you think? I noticed there is very little space between the idler and bracket on the side where the head of the nut is

No way to fit a wrench in there to do that.

Maybe a shaved down wrench?
Or just red loctite the thing and not worry about it
Can't hurt to switch to a lock washer and regular nut too if you have it apart already

I actually do have some snap on tools.. mainly ratchets, which are my favorite by far. I sold all my snap on impacts and went Milwaukee though. They make snap on look bad on that product line
If I did it for a living I'd have a whole lot more, just not justifiable for the regular DIY guys

Snap On is not what it used to be on many things now, just the way it is. I like the Milwaukee stuff too, especially the battery powered stuff, impact guns etc.

the regular wrench on the left wont grab the bolt properly. the wrench on the right will, its a little offset, which is not clear on the picture.
regular wrench in there:
there is 8 mm between bolt and blower. if you space out the bolt by 2-4 mm, you can hold it with a regular wrench.

Looks like its time to order some snap on thin wrenches just for this job.
Romandian, what kind of wrench is that on the right?
In my case I really don't need to grab the bolt, since I will just be taking the locknut off and swapping it out with a regular nut and lock washer, when I swap my belt.

no idea, i just have it, ratcheting wrench, chinese probably.
if the space is narrower, maybe a straight closed wrench will fit in there? yeah, you might grind that one on one side. but i tried to get a straight one and would have had to specially order it.
