How much HP can a Novi SL 1500 can handle?
Hey fellas,
I'm having LME build a 434 fully forged motor for me. With my previous motor, same ECS 1500 blower, PRC 265 heads, restrictor plate, and single nozzle meth I was making 691 rwhp and 738 rwtq to the wheels on ECS's DynaPak dyno.
I now will be removing the restrictor plate, swapping out the 3.5 stock pulley for a smaller one, and reusing the same little blower and heads as well as getting a PMC billet/sheet metal combo intake manifold.
Only God knows how much Power/Torque I'll end up making!
I'm wondering how much power is too much for this little Novi SL 1500 blower.... Anyone have the answer or opinions??? I wonder where's maxxed out at.

I made 850rwhp/800rwtq on 3 different dynos in 2012 with the ECS 1500 and my cam on a 402 with factory GM LS3 heads. Pump gas+meth. Ran 149mph in the 1/4 in full street trim the way it is in this video. I think a 434 is on the high side of cubes for that blower, but see what it runs at the track.

We have a lot of cars in the 800+ range on the "lil" Novi SL1500...
The highest we have seen with the Novi 1500 was 882whp stock bottom end on JRod's car that we had tuned... 919 was on spray. We had another C7 416ci Ltx just lay down 847whp with the novi.

Mid 800s with enough motor but it will peak early with a 434. I just tuned a 427 with a D1 which is similar in size and it peaked around 6000 even though the cam would do more like 6800 if the blower could feed it.

As they all said, mid 800s. Pushed hard enough, or on a loose dyno maybe upper 800s. Realistically 850ish.

What RPM did that 416 motor make peak power at?

curious what all these dyno sheets look like on peak power and what rpm and how the curve looks past peak too. my car was the D1 that Lt1z tuned (awesome tuner) and curious what other similar setups look like power curve and rpm wise. my car peaked at ~6k rpm but still made >865whp and the torque curve is ridiculous (to me at least)

850 seems to be the going rate, as has already been said

A D1 is a bigger blower by a bit. It's a 1400cfm blower and is in the Novi 2000, 2200, or JT range more than a 1500. Personally, I wouldn't run a 1500 on a 434. A 2200 would be better. Simple 850whp with a better powerband and lower IAT's. And if LME hasn't started, I'd opt for smaller cubes on boost.

That is the old wheel. New one is rated higher.
