I wouldn't go nuts on the cubes.
I'm gonna be moving back to Michigan in the next few months. Hopefully when yours is completed we can get some cruising in when the weather clears. Good luck with everything.

Ditch the F1R.. Do an F1X...
but you might need a bigger fuel system... better clutch... and more *****
lemme clarify.. My 434/f1r combo made an identical 930 rwhp to your car.. for them to make 1000 rwhp.. i bet its spun to the moon and out of steam by 6000 rpm.
i went to a 427/f1x and made 1460.

Safety Car
That is the car, yes sir. Thank you for noticing. I am in love with the vehicle and cannot see myself getting rid of it just because of this slight mishap. I look forward to meeting you, when you do make it back up here, feel free to send me a PM and we can meet sometime!

Ill definitely keep you in mind. As long as I am able to find an F1X that will mount to my current 10 Rib brackets I think I am all in, otherwise due to the cost of it all, I will most likely have to pass

I honestly believe that watching that video is what made me want to seal the deal on the car. I never thought I would own something of such caliber (well up until now at least).

Yes, because whether or not it was 5w-30 or 20w-50 it ran the same pressures at operating temp. First led me to believe I had a bad sending unit, or a relief valve sticking, however from what I have been researching the C6's just do not seem to have these issues as much as the C5 did.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Looking forward to the teardown and rebuild. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's a great looking car.
There may be no reason to change pistons. Unless I'm misunderstanding your description of the noise, the damage could easily be contained to the bottom end where you need the crank repaired/replaced and a new set of bearings or something simple like that.
If you do end up needing pistons, I too would recommend remaining conservative on the cylinder boring and instead hone it another .005".

Update:
I will be pulling the motor in the next two weeks, in the meantime I will post photos of the car in it's prime in order to slightly make me feel better about my life.
What are my options for de-stroking the motor if the block is in reusable condition? Back in my Subaru days, tons of folks were destroking the 2.5L boxer engines to 2.3L in order to rev them happily to 9k instead of 7-7.5k.
If possible to take it back to a 427 with a different crank/rod/piston combo?
