Default What are you putting in your meth tank?

In preparation to become another alky control user, are you guys buying your methanol 100% and diluting at home as needed, buying already mixed, or just using windshield washer fluid?

I might be oversimplifying things a lot, hence why I'm asking.
Thank you for your input. ..

D. None of the above

Most around here just run 100% pure methanol.

100% pure methanol from a local oil and fuel supplier. $150 for 55 gallons.

Wow, am I to assume that running 100% is to spray less or you are in need of some serious heat quenching.
Best to tune and run 100% then? I went with it more as a means to save the engine and not to add more boost

Never too much of a good thing?

I couldn't answer why.. I just saw it working for others and copied it.

I'd just do 100%. Then there's no mixing or buying inconsistently mixed wiper fluid etc.

VP M1 100%. Water is great for cooling but doesn't burn. For people that use it as additional fueling instead of just iat reduction, water just dilutes it down and you don't get as much octane benefit.

It's funny to me to see how different platforms are set on different ways.. some go with 50/50, some lean more towards water, and on here everyone goes with 100% meth

Same for the meth kits.. the ones that can't handle 100% meth claim 50/50 is better and 100% is a ticking time bomb ready to explode and burn you alive with clear flames.

Then the ones that can handle 100% meth lean more towards using 100%.

The way Ive always looked at it is "why the f&$* would I spray water into my engine?"

So 100% and M1, even though a percentage diluted in water can still achieve the same results if you're not concerned too much with hp gains and want to guard against heat soak and pre detonation. But 100% won't harm anything and you have less corrosion due to no water in the system and hey, more hp can't hurt much, more octane is also better from hp and safety of engine pov.
So if M1 is good, why not M5 since it reads as a better product according the VP site?

M3 and M5 are not good for the pump/systems. 100% M1 for me also. The top builders/tuners run 100% M1.

Most all tuners and cars are going to run 100% meth, we do on most cars also cause we are looking for high OCT also. But i can tell you one thing about a 50/50 mix. If you call the meth injection companies they will explain it in detail alot more BUT a 50/50 mix will actually draw more heat out of your cyls, water pulls out heat better then meth, BUT doesn't burn and has no oct rating. Soooo some people want that, but inturn your giving up the 100% meth oct boost. If all your looking for is heat out of your motor then 50/50 is fine. But if you want heat pulled out, the most oct rating, and the ability of running more timing to achieve more HP then 100% is the only way to go. You also never have to worry about if you mixed it right at 100% :-). We like most all do run 100% and will continue. but i just wanted to throw out there why some do a 50/50 mix and the reason behind it

Yep, this pretty much sums up what I've been reading here and other places, thank you for your post.

Again, hard to argue with the 100% logic, might be one of those elusive win-win situations I read about

Only downside is the flammability and cost.
