meth and damper so you won't have to do it later.
The instructions are still not that great.
Order a racetronix fuel pump wiring harness (it's like $50). Basically it will provide power direct from the alternator to the fuel pump and adds a nice place to splice in the boost-a-pump. Can't beat it for the price. Stock wiring is anemic.
I have a huge thread on my build with all the normal problems, see below.
My recommendations? Install an aftermarket balancer while you're at it. C2501 from Summit is the one I'm using. My stock one fell apart after a few minutes of having the load from a supercharger on it and trust me you don't want to try to replace it after you've already installed the whole kit
I had problems installing the rivnuts (they tell you to basically use a bolt/nut to compress them, which is not really how it's supposed to be done). Harbor freight has a cheap rivet nut tool for like $20, so if I were doing it over again I would have picked one of those up
That's all I can think of right now
I'd think again about meth. You can add it on "top" of whatever your tune is like without meth and just use it for a little extra fuel/octane/air cooling. You don't have to be totally reliant on it.

Well, Ive owned my 2010 Grand Sport for about 4 months now, and I cant just leave it alone. I pulled the trigger on an ECS black kit as well as some catted SLP Headers. Very excited to be back in the FI game as my previous car was a Supercharged 2012 mustang 5.0.
I have been reading all over the place and following a bunch of threads. Is there anything I should start piecing together or buying before the kit gets here?
Also, I have seen a number of people complaining about the install directions being outdated... Have they been revised? I wouldnt know by reading the instructions now since I dont have anything else in front of me.
I plan to do the install at my shop with one of my buddies. We both work in automotive so I'm assuming this wont be too hard of a job to tackle.
Hoping to get close or break that 600whp mark. I do not want to add meth which I know a ton of people do, but Id rather keep it as low maintenance care free as possible.
Let me know what you guys think! Tips, Advice, Side Steps, insider info, etc etc!!
ECS hurry up and finish building my KIT!!!
Also a huge thanks to Cajun@BER for the pricing and consistent quick responses to my e-mails. He worked his butt off for my business, and I cannot thank him enough. Wonderful guy to deal with and I would refer him to everyone thus far.

Go with an overdrive crank pulley. It will allow you to run a larger blower pulley....less potential for belt slip
I'll second the meth. I ran for awhile without it at 700rwhp but I was never totally comfortable making that power with out it. Is it necessary? No but it'll help you make all of the power you paid for.

go methanol
go with upgraded MAP sensor
I had mine tuned SD it developed a much smoother idle
Also, it's nice having a boost gauge in the DIC with the upgraded MAP sensor.

Just go to the dealer for the MAP sensor or we can include it with the kit. They are not very expensive.

No under drive pulley with a supercharger. Over drive only if you're going that route
Not necessary unless you're going all out though
I don't know of any lower cost options for over drive pullies. Only IW which is like $500
ZR1 map sensor.. any GM place, amazon, ebay.. just about anywhere that sells car parts can get them

Burning Brakes
Your stock balancer (damper) will last a while probably but they are known to fail eventually even on stock engines. Do yourself a favor and replace it now since you need to pin the crank anyways. It's not fun to have to pull the steering rack again later.

Alright. Update as I install this kit and get more and more frustrated.
Everything was going smooth. Pinning the crank went smooth which I thought was the "hardest" part. Wrong.
The first bracket that you bolt to the block for the ac tensioner. Needs to be milled down 1/16-1/8 inch because the bolt holes don't line up and the bracket wasn't sitting right.
The HD tensioner doesn't line up the best with the bracket holes. Had to shave the two pins slightly.
The HD tensioner pulley is hitting one of the water pump bosses preventing installation 100%. I've noticed some corvette water pumps have this and some don't. So I had to take off the water pump and mill off this boss.
Took the evening off. These three things have set us back like 3 hours and has been super aggravating to deal with. Hopefully tomorrow goes smoother and this HD tensioner doesn't give us any more issues. It sits VERY close to the harmonic balancer.

Are you using a GM water pump or something else?
Yeah, the tensioner does nearly touch the balancer... but not quite. That's normal though.

Alright Update #2
The headunit is on. The coolant hose, and wireharness that sit under/next to the head unit and radiator are tight and make me a little uneasy. but it seems the same compared to pictures online. Belt is on. Having a hard time adjusting the the 24mm bolt to make sure the tensioner is lined up correctly. Attacking that momentarily. Doing the BAP and Racetronix harness right now.
Im ready to just be done installing this kit and drive it. Trying to be patient with everything. My tuning appointment is thursday, and i can only really work on it from 730-1030 every night. Should make it, but its getting close...
Next time, I'll pay the speed shop to do it. The two of us doing this install both are mechanically inclined, but id rather a shop that has installed tons of these do it.
