TT Vette Build
Hello all,
Figured I would start my build thread here as I have always enjoyed reading others.
I have a 2006 Corvette Z51 that previously had a A&A Si kit on it which put down 662/554. After driving it around for roughly a year with the supercharger I ended up shattering my differential at the track. After this, I decided to go on an all out build and took the car down for the past year.
With the shattered diff, I decided to replace it with a z06 TR6060 and a z06 diff. The TR6060 is stock meanwhile I had HPE (Hoosier Performance Engineering in Fort Wayne) rebuild the diff with brand new clutch packs, a billet pinion bearing support and driveshaft shop 300m shafts
For the motor, I picked up a unmachined LSX 6 bolt block. Internals will be a Dragonslayer crank, Callies Ultra H rods, -15cc Diamond pistons that are ceramic coated and ARP hardware through out to make a 408 out of it. Will be running Dart's LS3 6 bolt heads to complete the long block.
For the turbo kit itself, I have picked up a UPP z06 top mount kit. The kit came with the smaller 5871 turbo's that I am going to be switching out. Once I have the new motor in the car,as well as all the piping installed, I am hoping to get my hands on a PTE 6266 or 6766 to test fit to see if I can make it work. Otherwise, I am going to go with their larger hybrid turbos that they are *currently* developing (the 6182's are my last resort).
Fueling will be either a Fore kit ($$$$) or an A&A/ECS twin external setup with BAP's. Injectors will be the new ID1700 or their ID2000's. Everything will be controlled though ProEFI with their iBoost controller and will be tuning the car to run on 93 octane all the way to e98 with a flex fuel kit.
Parts starting to arrive
And the old motor is being pulled out of the vette to go to its new home.
Next up, the LSX block will be loaded up and dropped off at the builder in the next week or so. Hoping to have everything back together to make it down to TX2k in March.

ohhhyeahhh!! what are the goals of the car?
will be interesting if you choose to go with an external pump setup. I'm sure someone here has done it but I personally have yet to see someone max out one of the top stage external fuel pump setups like the A&A dual etc, I'd think those with BAP "should" be crazy capable but depends on the goals. Full tilt FORE setup is like $4-5k.....

I'm in the same boat--haven't heard a lot of negative things about external setups other than they are "ugly". For the money though, almost $1,000 difference, I think the eternal setup will be sufficient enough for my setup.

If you're not on e85 and especially if you have some methanol involved I have to think a "stage 2" external system should be fine, I spoke with ecs and a&a awhile back and they both mentioned they've seen 1k+ whp on their external systems, but I've never seen anyone max one out till it was insufficient so I'm not sure how close to the edge that is.
I would like to see four figures from the car. I also have a set of 15's and the LG drag spindles on the rear of the car, but not sure if I am going to really push it on the track next year or not.

Just a small update today. Spoke with Martin over at Tick Performance yesterday to do a custom cam for me so I'll be ordering that up in the next week or so. He suggested to go with 237/241 .625/.610 116+5 cam which would allow a 62mm to breath the best.
Otherwise, LSX block will be dropped off on Monday to be turned into a stout 408ci beast.
Old motor was loaded up this morning to be dropped off at its new home. Who needs a truck when you have a Focus ST.

Looks like a cool build. I got my Fore triple kit for under 2K.

Completely on jack stands. Think this is my 3-4th time pulling the rear end/torque tube for numerous reasons; once for clutch, twice to replace faulty clutch , and then to take out the motor. Not very difficult as I pulled the entire thing, by myself, in 2 afternoons.

Can't wait to see how this turns out! I've totally contemplated swapping to this same setup but with so few people having this setup I've opted to wait. Good luck with it and keep us updated.

I believe we met 2 years ago down in Houston at the Omni. I had my vette supercharged at the time and we spoke for a few minutes and then you coincidentally ended up racing my buddy in his black Supra later that night. Small world.

The LSX isn't a first gen is it? Just asking because of the way you mentioned picking it up, seemed like it was maybe sitting in someone's shop for a while.
First gen:
Second gen (note the beefed up water jackets):
PS: I would leave the 58's on there now and wait for the new bigger turbos to come out.
