Default 500ci RHS short block

With the option of lower compression. Its compatible for a supercharger. The question is is the stroke to big? Would it hold up? What's everyone's thoughts?

IMO, no reason to run a tall deck block for a forced induction application. Adds too many complications, and added expense. There is a reason all the fast fast LSX cars are not running them.

500 is too big for boost.

I think the largest you can build a boosted tall deck motor is 454 to 460ish

4.250 stroke and a 4.125 bore up till about 4.155.

Telling us what kind of supercharger you want to run as well as boost levels can help us. 500 is way too big for boosted applications as others have said.

Why would it be too big for boost? Plenty on big block big cubes procharged n twin turbo monsters out there.

Because to get that CI out of a tall deck LSX block you have to move the wrist pin up, run a huge stroke, and a thin piston. They don't have the bore spacing to run a 500+ci setup like a big block.

When you have 427 based LS motors making 2500+hp, why mess with what works?

Hasn't RHS had problems with blocks cracking once they're really pushed? Maybe it's not applicable to this one or been fixed by now? I know Bret's cracked and I know joe whatever his name is has cracked several. He's running a solid block now last I read, no water jackets (race only, obviously)

After a lot of researching I would just do LSX. I wouldn't touch ERL.

The purpose of a tall deck it to be able to run thicker crown pistons with longer strokes. OP, I'd call and experienced tall deck engine builder.

Unreal, mind messaging me, or PM the ERL horror stories you've been seeing lately?

I'm very curious since they're one of 2 shops I'd consider to sleeve blocks.

Basically the same as Detoxx. Issues after issues, and when you really start asking around it seems more common.
