it looks amazing and I've always considered doing this, and maybe I'm just not going fast enough yet, but up to 180mph my 900whp base model vette feels plenty stable to me, so while more downforce and stability is always nice I've just always been curious if that increased downforce comes at the cost of increased drag and maybe costs a little mph in standing 1/2 or mile style events and if you had any data on this dynamic in the context of big power straight line events since you swapped your hood. Just curious though, nbd, sorry for thread derail, epic car build.

Well at speed....and speeds below 180mph they tend to lift the nose. The car was designed well enough it isn't going to flip over at speed but yes it does need some help on keeping the nose down.

venting the hood always helps for sure, I guess I was just wondering if you had any data on the drag penalty that typically associated with increased downforce. like "swapped the hood and gained stability but cost me 1mph in the standing mile etc..."
like a rear wing will help settle a car too, but there is a drag cost for that stability benefit.
but maybe since it brings the nose down it actually creates more downforce and lower drag coefficient at the same time? probably not a big deal either way. just curious.

Not to bad. There is ZERO room for any over the axle pipes..so no traditional muffler setup that is for sure. Gets really close to a couple spots on the frame which needed clearance. We ran solid mounts front and rear so I don't know if you could keep the OEM style mounts and keep it off the frame or not.
As far as install, yeah RPM did a great job everything bolts in as far as that side of it goes.

Anthony, this is definitely going to be one badass setup once complete. I'm looking forward to your keeping us updated with results!
Question about the VSS signal. I guess I just assumed when people installed these things, they did without the vss "because racecar".
But, then I see it clearly on the top of the housing. Is there a reluctor machined into the ring gear? Or a separate reluctor somehow attached to the ring gear? Regardless, that's really cool.
Thanks.
