Default Anyone running twin 6766s with V band inlets?

If so, what power are you making? What size motor? Which trans?

Trying to see if they can make 1100WHP through a glide without insane back pressure.

Will make that power easy in my opinion.
I made 1085rwhp 1055rwtq 16 psi straight 91 octane on 454ci on my friend's C6 Z06 6766s 1.08a/r

Just worried since the vbands are "t3" .82

Ed (Slowride) used vband in/out T3 .82ar housings on his. Turbonetics cast wheel 62/65's, and made over 1k at wheels on corn. I would see 1100 being possible with billet 6766 precisions.

Looks like it starts falling off up top which I'd assume is from back pressure... Hmmm 67s would take less boost to hit that target but he's also manual... I plan on going glide and solid 8.8.

Agree, not entirely apples to apples. Just a datapoint for reference using the housings you're asking about.

Keeping cubes down will help some, and can also dump the gates externally.

Or just go full retard T4 https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orking-on.html

It would be a custom kit but I like the ease of vbands over t3/4. If I went big t4 I would probably do the biggest 6266 I could get.

Precision is coming out with a 1.05 turbine vband housing. I'm not sure if the officially announced it yet, but we have them on order. They claimed we should see another 150-200hp out of the turbo.

Rumors were those are for 75mm turbine wheels only?

I just called PTE and they said that housing for the smaller turbos isnt even close to being in production :/

He also said like I thought that the 6766 will be on the verge of 1100whp through a glide without insane bp. Kind of a gable at this point.

Seems like the Garrett GTX4088R would get you there with room to grow and has a v-band inlet/outlet turbine housing in 3 different A/R options.

I don't understand why more turbo companies aren't moving towards v-band inlets and offering larger A/R ratios.

Im ballin on a budget. Trying to keep cost down as mach as I can. Im doing a front mounted powerglide, and a ford 8.8 solid axle conversion as well.

this doesn't sound like a budget build lol.

1100 thru a glide should be plenty fiiiiiine.

I'd use these up to 1200 on a manual I think, but you would lose more through the glide as you know. If it were on a smaller engine like a mod motor I'd say sure go ahead, but in this case it would be hard on stuff.

Tial or bullseye do v band housings also for different stuff, but they get pricy. I do know you could get a tial t3 v band 1.06 with a gtx setup.

I would not say all my power drop is turbo as those dynos were with a manual controller so boost would spike to 19 and slightly taper to 18 or less. I also only run 317 heads, ls6 intake and a 226 cam. Most of these cars will peak like that using this stuff unless you keep boost solid to redline. It is clear though that some backpressure is building and causing the loss up top. I just don't think they are done quite yet as the car was still making power. A billet 6766 seems like a lot of compressor to get through the turbine setup I use.

A little bit different, but I'll be running twin gen2 6266's on a 10.3:1 408 LSX block. Will give you an idea of what a smaller turbo can do at least.

Are they vband inlets?
