Default Great time at Street Car Takeover

Well I did not win the money but I still had a great time at Orlando Speed World for Street Car Takeover last night.
Special thanks to Matt and the guys at Florida Speed and Power for boosting my power level to well over 800whp.
Got close to the 9 second goal on stock trans/converter but not quite.

Best time was a 10.09@144.5mph

glad you had fun!

I had the joy of seeing it run the other night. Great guy, great times, great car.

Now you'll have to line up with me again with the tune dialed in since it wasn't right when we lined up.

Very nice! A converter and you are well into the 9s

Were you called out by the tech officials regarding your et and mph? I keep getting pulled aside and my best has been 10.50s@134

No reprimand as of yet. I think the new vehicles with structural support integrated into them and airbags galore get a pass until you break into the 9's. I've seen a few cars running 10.0's without issue.

9.99 or less is a different story. A 6 point rollbar and a rear mount kill switch will be necessary and trap speeds over 150mph require a parachute.

So close, you're a good air day away from 9's. Congrats.

Check this out...this track is a 1000ft track but if you look at the other slips, it's a 9 second car. ECS kit plus Alky control. Circle D converter. Ls7 manifolds and full 3". Weld rts 17" drag pack with a 26" hoosier dr (315).stock 2.56 rear.

Default Last attempt

Thought I'd give it one more try before upgrading the converter. Got a smidge closer but no cigar. 10.06@146mph is all she wrote. Back to Florida Speed and Power for the next step.

Rocking the mph in the 1/8!

What diff ratio do you have? A 2:56 would take away the couple of tenths your down.

The da was 1228' that day. I'm running the 2.56 gear and trapping the top of 3rd gear at 146mph on 28" tires.

c'mon dude you can do it!!! My basic bolt-on GTR on 32psi street tires is kicking your 60' and 1/8th mile times still. You're powering past me up top and barely eeking my 1/4mi time out. Don't make me actually drop the air pressure in my tires to go faster.

Get those gears...get that torque converter...and get deep in the 9s as that car should damn well be doing!!! Then you'll motivate me to actually mod this GTR and we'll have a fun in-state competition going on.

(before anyone asks I know the OP personally I'm just playing with him)
