Default Procharger direct drive belt issue

Hey guys

Was wondering if any one had an issue with the new procharger kit.. direct drive 12 rib setup on a C6?
Our car broke five belts on the dyno until now!! @ only 20psi
Pulleys were aligned with gates laser device. We have loosen up the tensioner and yet keeps breaking. We were not able to tune due to that problem.
Belt starts tearing up at 5000RPM during the pull.
Is this a common problem?
Any recommendations?

Call Procharger. You paid for tech support from them, so use it.

Do you have a laser aligner available to check that the pulleys/belt is aligned straight?

Easy enough to fill in....

Thanks for purchasing procharger parts, the best parts ever made. We have c6 corvettes making 1400-1600rwhp with this setup. Plenty of C6s have proven how good procharger parts are. Since other cars makes 1400+ on prochargers, the problem is obviously with your install or setup. Please contact tech support so they can help you out.

Now I can link to a bunch of race car stuff and single dyno pulls to show how awesome our stuff is.

How is the belt breaking? Is it snapping in half or is the belt shredding lengthwise into pieces? The way it fails indicates the cause. Are you showing any knock on the logs, during the pulls at all? Were the knock sensors desensitized in the tune at all?

I hope PCT doesn't take it too personal, as it was a joke.

Anyways, what belt? There is now 3 of them if you added a direct drive kit. Are you talking about the blower belt? DD belt? Accessory belt? Like Bret said, how is it braking? Do you have enough BOV? Hooked up correctly?

I'll keep saying the same thing over and over again, you paid a premium for procharger parts which includes use of their customer service. Use it. If you would have bought an A&A kit then Josh and Andy would have been on the phone with your several times already as they have excellent customer service. Buying a companies parts includes service and after sales support, so use it.

Hussain is over in the Middle East, it is one of his customer's cars and he bought the kit through me. It is one of ProCharger's direct drive 12 rib F-2 race kits. It is breaking the 12 rib belts in two at approx 5000 rpm. I asked Hussain if anyone was watching the bracket during the runs to see if it was flexing, and he said no one was watching it. Currently the engineering at ProCharger wants to know if he is using the spring tensioner on the bottom or the fixed idler, I am waiting for Hussain to get back to me on it. Bob

The down side is....
Those same cars have been beaten on time and time again, off the dyno on the street, at race strips, roll events, etc.
Nothing to prove, the parts work, PERIOD.

This customer is working with his dealer, and one of the techs here to find resolution to what the issue might be. So far this is the first issue we have seen come up with these brackets, so it will be a learning experience to try and diagnose the root of the issue.

Just like anyone that has a tech issue, we will get to the bottom of it. Thanks for those that put out pointers and tips. I would urge the customer to keep in contact with us, (which I believe he still has) so that we can get to the bottom of this as fast as possible.

Thanks guys,
