Default Stock LS7 Haltech/Aquamist/PrecisionTurbo FenderMount Build

My car is currently down for upgrades and has been since early April. Previous set up netted the highest Whp Boost Only LS7 (837whp/741wtq) @ 5.8psi and 10* Timing fed by a Borg Warner Billet S480 1.58a/r. All motor it put down 623whp/545wtq On Real Street Performances Dyno. Never had a good pass when it was N/A but I did manage to trap 139 on a 11.2 ET. That being said I decided to add a few things to my build. New Turbo, New EMS, Direct Port Meth Injection 9 nozzle system capable of spraying 3000cc's of methanol (8 Direct and 1 post intercooler for additional cooling)

Realistic Goals for this Home/Garage build:
Make 850-900whp C85/E85 only @6 psi
Make 1000whp under 12psi E85/C85 + M1 Methanol
Fastest Stock Motor LS7 at the track. I will be using either English Town NJ or OSW In Orlando FL for my passes.

I trust my motor as it's made 837 to the tire since last August and took a beating pull after pull race after race. Good fuel and Tuning is key. No cracked Sleeve or piston.

Compression Ratio on this motor is 13.8:1 Due to WCCH CNC'd Angle Milled heads. The set up was originally put together for a high power N/A set up but things changed as locals started getting faster.

Let's start with the Formula:

Engine:
OEM LS7 bottom end and internals
ARP Head Studs
OEM LS7 head gaskets
WCCH CNC'd heads Milled .130
Comp Dual Springs
Comp 7.700 Pushrods
LG G7XX Camshaft
Holley Hi Ram (Ported by me)
Ported Stock throttle body Also done by me
OBX 4inch Front Mount intercooler, Soon to be replaced by a 6inch ETS intercooler.
OEM LS7 Exhaust manifolds
3Inch Crossover piping
X2 Tial MVR 44mm wastegates
Fender Exit 4 inch Dump

Turbo Setup:

Precision Turbo NMCA/Renegade Class Legal Gen2 76mm Ball Bearing Turbo T6 1.39 a/r
(Most Badass 76 on the market)

http://www.precisionturbo.net/turboc...eme-Street/587

Don't let that 76mm for you it flows more on the compressor and have a bigger and higher flowing exhaust wheel then my previous S400 based turbo. Not to mention it spools much faster. No need for a 100+mm turbo for under 2k

3 inch intercooler piping from the fender to the intercooler
4 inch pipes from the Intercooler to the throttle body.

Drivetrain:

Stock Z06 T56 until it breaks
McLeod RXT Twin w/aluminum flywheel
All arp hardware
C5 Axels

Fuel:

ID1000cc injectors
Dual Grams Performance 440lph inline fuel pumps individual -10 Feeds for each pump from the fuel cell
Jegs 20gallon Fuel Cell Mounted out back

Methanol Kit:

100%M1 Methanol
Aquamist Custom HFS4 Direct Port Methanol kit -4an Steel Braided lines
Injecting 270CC into each individual cylinder and 660CC injected on the 9th nozzle pre throttle body.
Failsafes are equipped and Map switching is on the fly with this kit.

EMS:

Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 Standalone ECU
Can Hub
TC-4 A&B 8 egt's to monitor each individual cylinder
WB-2 Dual widebands one on each bank
3rd wide band AEM 4.9 on down pipe

Suspension/Wheel and tire Combo:
BC Racing Coilovers Custom Spec'd for Drag
Wheels and tires TBA

Enjoy the Build I have lots of photos and video from install and parts that will be posted shortly.

What makes ya wanna race @ E-town if you live in Florida? Lemme know if your in my necks of the woods. I'll meet ya @ raceway park and we will do some runs. Your better off racing at atco, englishtown is super strict with the rules now.

I bounce back and fourth between NYC and Orlando. I'm building the car currently in NY but if atco is nice I'm definately down to meet up. I really haven't seen any vette guys in the area unless I'm near deer park.

Very interested to see the results of this build. Especially as it relates to turbo choice. I had an old school T76 on my C5 Z. It did ok, but ran out of steam at 750rwhp or so. No transbrake so i couldnt do much better than mid 10's at 138mph with a 6spd. I ended up replacing that setup with twins (TTIx Kit) which worked out real nice, good for high 9's at mid 140's with an A4. I have a 16MY Z that I should take delivery of by mid to late June. I am not a fan of the stock blower and right now F1X setups seem to be the hot ticket. I have a natural turbo bias. I found out that a certain turbo company is developing a Single Kit for C7's. After speaking with precision, I think one of their Gen 2 8685 T4 units might be a real nice alternative. Good street manors (not too laggy) with the ability to pull up top on a 6.2L. What made you decide on the unit that u picked. Have you seen or driven something with it in a configuration similar to yours.

Here are some pictures of the new turbo. Physically it is much larger then my S480. It uses a Pro Mod compressor housing, Basically it's a ProMod 88mm Compressor with the tips of the inducer Milled down to 76mm just for class restrictions. It's not just your Ordinary 76mm.

It's a fairly new unit (76mm) in their Gen2 technology line up. It's rated to 1325 which it actually makes more. My tuner Darin Dichara made 1315whp and lethal performance uses it on their race car Mustang which recently layed down 1358whp through a Glide. This new unit uses a larger turbine wheel which actually sparked my interest so that back pressure won't be a problem. This exhaust wheel is bigger then the 8685. It's 91mmx100. The older style 76's used a 75mm turbine which is the reason most ran out of steam especially on a larger V8. I just get sick to my stomach when I see a 90-100+mm compressor turbos for a 1000-1200whp build. That's just ineffecient and making power by force instead of precision. This new unit spools fast and it will make great torque numbers and be able to carry 1200+ with no sweat.

The F1X is a very nice unit indeed. I was actually very very close to getting an F1A-94 prior to deciding on this. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will keep this thread well documented and stuffed with photos and information.

Here are some installation shots. With the turbo being much bigger then the S480 I had to do more modification to the fender but it looks great and everything fit just fine. The exhaust manifolds were drilled and welded for the egt bungs and the downpipe was made with the new flange. I also picked up a set of firecore 50 wires.

More pics will be up shortly as I'm uploading now.

How did you handle the fuel gauge/sender deal with the cell?

Thanks and same here. This bad boy was made to order and is one of a kind. Lethal Performance recently laid down 1358 to the tire on their Coyote Mustang with this turbo. Jessica Bartons Supra (3200lbs&1315whp) went 8.20@180 with this turbo also. Its a 76 on Steroids pretty much

I haven't yet honestly. I would just walk to the back and check the tank since I can see straight in. I've been talking with Dudeman and I believe he came up with a solution to use the fuel cell with the factory gauge. Hopefully he will chime in.

The float is pretty much a positive n negative n sends to signal to the gauge depends how it gets connected it can either read jt right or backwards so wouldn't a float that measures the fuel in your specific fuel sell just hooked up to the gauge n given power make the factory gauge work just having the gauge independently working(kinda like if it was a new wideband gauge been installed)
