Centri super charger is loud at idle
Anyone think that a Centri super charger is freaking loud at idle? I love everything else about the set up, but the sound these Vortechs make is just not acceptable to me.
Anyone else feel the same way?

Hate to break it to you but all centri blowers are kinda loud at idle.. The bigger the blower, the louder it is typically. If that is something that bothers you go buy a loud exhaust and a cam.. It will cover it up some..

I have a V2 T-Trim and sure you can kinda hear it but it's not that loud. Only time I really notice it is idling in the garage and I can't hear it from inside the car. I wish it was louder, I don't mind being a little rowdy

They arent loud with helical gears. F series Prochargers are loud though.

my d1 is really loud at idle but I like it... most of the vortechs I've heard were pretty quiet or not even noticeable

What type of noise?
1. Higher the idle the louder the whistle.
2. Type of gearing in the Centri, as mentioned by 1ltz helical gears are quieter.
3. BOV - size will affect noise. Is there a filter on the BOV to suppressed noise?

And actually it is not the loudness of it that bothers me, it is the type of noise.
The car is a convertible and I am sure that has a lot to do with it.

I can't hear the blower at all on the street. The blow off yes, if the Exhaust valves are closed. However, headers and open NPP there's nothing to really hear other than angry, angry exhaust and the occasional woosh from the valve when getting out of it.

I have a V3 Si that can barely be heard at idle, but has the sweetest whistle/whine with just a slight touch of the gas. Music to my ears. Too loud you say?!? Not mine...in fact, I wish it were just a little louder!
