Joel Grannis runs a T56 now in his supra it's built a bit different you might wanna get in touch with him or find out to make it into a setup for the vette. I believe he has the 3rd fastest 6speed car.

I know two people with 1500+ rwhp 6060 setups. Both go through 2-3 a year. After awhile they just start whining and tearing the gears up. They just accepted that to have a 6 speed at that level, have a spare ready to swap, and rebuild it when it starts to fail. Both are 1/2 mile and 1 mile cars.

Thats what my buddy in his camaro runs, and they only last a little while before needing rebuilt. I guess it just depends on how much life is acceptable.

Correct. I will get prototype TR6060 custom build dogbox with custom gear ratios for mile races on next week, due to short shedule I have to use now factory case but I have full billet case under work. This tranny should be ok for 2000hp with billet case. Will see, two weeks for next race.

About the best way to build something like this would be a dogbox if you want to shift really fast and straight cut gears to reduce side loads on the case I would think. I'm sure a box like that would be quite loud on the street, but at that point I doubt anyone would care.

Are all the guys running the built 6060's still using the coolers/pumps? Anyone add extra sprayers to the case?

I'm running that tranny. Been waiting for JTM to get my 1200ish rwhp power LME-built 7.1 liter aluminum block 2012 Centennial ZO6. I'll let you know when I finally get it back.

-RPM says I will be fine with this tranny for a very long time.

I have had RPM level 5 since 2012-13. It worked well on that power level.
I believe they are right!

Pfitzner offers conversion kits that you replace the internals with their gears and shafts. Other than the metallurgy, the parts are dimensionally comparable, so it makes me wonder how much more power they will handle, if any. I've got one on my bucket list for this last build of mine.

What I believe is the greatest contributor to failure at these power levels (other than the obvious) is the heat generated at the gear surfaces. These parts are hardened and tempered. If the surface temps exceed a certain threshold, the parts lose their strength. Pulling the longitudinal G's in higher powered cars pushes the fluid needed for cooling away from the places it's needed. Coupled with the force applied to the gears this is the recipe for the "runaway train" effect. I believe that the greatest thing you can do to help a 6060 take this kind of load and abuse is to not only use a large cooler, but get a good Tilton pump assembly like the one in the pic below and strategically place the return nozzle/s to spray the critical areas inside.
