Default About to do inline fuel system for e85 (diagram)

So I'm gonna be running the stock pump, and a grams e85 pump inline. I plan on drilling the stock driver's side tank and running a -8 feed to the aftermarket rails that Y's with the stock feed, then from the rails to a regulator, then back to the tank with a -8. I'm shooting for 800 wheel on e85. Comments/ critiques are welcome.

My questions/concerns are:

- Does the return need to be located higher up on the tank, or will the fuel still push through the tank?

- Do I need to take out the stock regulator? I don't even know where this is located... passenger tank?

- Will the stock pump be okay on e85? It's a 06 z51 pump.

Here is what I drew up real quick:

Return doesn't have to be at the top of the tank

To run over 58psi you need to remove the factory regulator. The regulator is in the driver side tank. If you will ever be running less than 52 or so psi then you have to remove a block off valve that is in the passenger tank as well. The fuel transfer system is designed to not work under 52psi fuel pressure (roughly), so if you're running less than that it won't transfer fuel..

Not sure on that pump with E85. Others will know

If you want a true 1:1 fuel pressure you will need to plug the drivers side regulator(on the bucket). Use the lingenfelter plug. If I were to do it again, I would plug both the drivers and the passenger side so I could run a 42-43psi base pressure. The stock pumps seem to be hit of miss with e85. If youre dropping the tank to plug the regulator it would be stupid to not add an e85 compatible pump(walbro 450).

Dude man:. Where does your stock feed tie into the system?

Up front, under the brake booster

I also have a 1 way check valve on the Y for the secondary system

Subbing to this. Does the grams pump come with a check valve?

Curtis has had good luck with the grams, I personally like the dw350s.

Here's another option for mounting the external pump. I realize it's on a C5, but you could accomplish the same thing with a bulkhead fitting on the tank.

So I need plugs for both the driver's side and passenger side tanks?

I'm still not sold on the drill and tap part on the tank. If I use the DW350 pump do I have to use a return and a regulator? I want to do something like the ecs kit but want to do a couple of things a little different.

I really dont need a secondary fuel system but I want it for peace of mind. Thank you in advance!

I get deals on red horse so I used their hose and fittings. Technically you can still use it without a regulator. I don't like to do that though regardless of the pump, due to the fact you'll be causing the factory one to work overtime with the increased volume.

I'll look them up. So a regulator is recommended. I see a lot of folks dont use them and I'm not saying is right to do but rarely hear about a failure. I'll keep that in mind as well. Thank you!

Edit: I just looked them up and they are here in IL. I may not use them since I'm going to get taxed too lol

I'd use some fragola e85 capable push loc lines and fittings.

I used push loc lines in the past but not the fragola brand and wasn't too impressed. Have you used those before? Trust it?

The least I want is a fuel leak or fumes in my garage. So if I have to fork up the funds to avoid that, then so be it.

Not yet but all my friends with coyotes do. Good enough for 7s in the 1/4 so I'd trust it

Have to say after dealing with Fragola PTFE hose I'd probably consider push loc hoses if I ever do another system. The hoses were a royal PITA to deal with.

Is there any way to use a combination of both fittings? i.e. use push loc on everything out of the engine bay since if it comes off it's just going to spew fuel all over a wheel well or something, then use regular fitting around the engine bay.. Just an idea.
