Default Dashlogic EOT not the same with DIC

Anyone else have this issue with Dashlogic? I just set Dashlogic to read ECT and EOT and the engine oil temps are off 6-12* from the DIC. I do have the latest beta software v2.2.

Yes, this has been discussed many times. Dashlogic reads from the ECU. ECU reports calculated oil temp. The oil temp sensor is wired right to dash, and dash displays the sensor. Strange how GM set it up, so the car doesn't even know the oil temp besides the calculated one.

That is the only one like that, the rest are sensors to the ECU.

Unreal, thanks for the explanation. That is strange how GM set it up that way.

Yep.

I can only assume it was easier or cheaper for them to do that way, somehow..? I never really understood why either.

You figure all the calculations the ECM does, why not an accurate EOT?

I have tried to fix it with math but the temp difference never seems to be the same twice so it's like shooting for a moving target; eventually I just set it up to read a little high no matter what.
