welp i pulled the trigger on a YSI
after much reading and talking with you guys on here and with several different companies , i went with a new YSI unit with full secondary 8 rib drive kit and 10% OD IW balncer and bosch 850cc . ill be picking up a AEM 380 fuel kit and meth kit this week . the car is a LS2 HCI full 102 setup and full exhaust car . i understand the YSI will be a bit overkill on my stock block but i didnt want to be maxxing out a V3 Ti unit or a novi 1500 . went with a 4" pulley to start to see where that gets me at . if it is "too lagy" as some say it will be i can always pulley it down and wastegate the system to jump into boost i would assume.
Any other things i should look at get besides a new bottom end build for when this one turns into confetti? Also on a stock clutch for the time being :0 lolol should probably start a money pool to see how long that wil last me .

Silly to blow it if you are planning a built motor. Order a short block and sell yours while running and you will be way ahead money wise.

Tuned right and not driven like a teenager, they seem to hold together pretty well. Stock clutch will hold until it sees any real boost. Start pricing out the Mantic or McCloud clutches. Is your car an 05? If so, you might want to start looking for a z06 driveline.

Decided to run with a 3.8 and its going back to vengeance again for the FI tune. Its an 06 , i was looking at the mcCloud RST street twin disk (800) or (1000) i was curious to how the pedal will be. I was told it easier to drive a (800hp) twin than a (800hp) single disk just bc of the pedal.

926 rwhp with conservative tune... 16 degrees total timing. doing a velocity stack and c16 tune this spring.

I don't get the Problem that people have had with the Mcleod... I use it and its holding my HP just fine I decided to go with the RXT because a lot of my friends here IN NL have used them flawlessly. I think some of the issues you see is installation error. They recommend that you don't use a tick adjustable with their clutch but I did and its fine. you just have to make sure you adjust it so that it doesn't put to much pressure on the forks/ over extend it. having said that I will try the mantic next to compare.

if you have it all apart why not do a 10 rib over an 8 rib?
my rxt did not hold 870whp at all. mantic ftw. more expensive but do it once and do it right. they both drive fine though on the street although i think mantic is a touch smoother with less chatter. i used stock master cylinder for clutch.

I have an RST that slipped several times in the first 4-5k miles it was in, but then I did some hard clutch dumps as per mcleod and ever since I haven't had any problems. Sure was interesting doing the dumps at 700rwhp with street tires. LOL. I still think it'll end up falling apart once I throw some more pulley at it. I plan on going with Mantic when that happens
