Default Best new 1/4 time for me

Holley LS Fest this weekend I ran my best 1/4 to date, I normally run 1.34-1.35 60ft times so the 60ft was off. Plus my best 1/8th time is a 5.83. Still running a 6l80.

RHS 427, Ysi 2.75 pulley, Built 6l80 by Adam Cooper @ ACE Performance, PTC convertor, RPM Stage IV differential with Quaife unit, air to water intercooler, tuned by Lane Culver @ Culver Auto Specialties. Rick Crawford @ Rick Crawford Racing fined tuned the trans shifts at the Holley Ls Fest this weekend. If it would of 60ft like it normally does (1.34-1.35) I think it would of got in the 8's. It made 1010rwhp on the dyno.

I thought you was the one going for a 8 second stock bottom end pass. Maybe it was someone else. Sounds like a similar build to mine.

Awesome! That thing's hauling *** for sure. How many runs do you have on that 6L80? I'm glad to see that you stuck with the 6 speed, rather than just doing the typical glide at that power level. Its also interesting that you're running a PTC converter. What's the stall and gearing, if you don't mind sharing?
Beautiful, badass ride. With that MPH, it won't be long before you hit 8s, in my estimation.

Thank you, It has somewhere around 40 passes and a bunch of street miles. The convertor will footbrake to 2500rpm at the track before turning the tires over, 3.15 rear gear.

I agree with realcanuck's suggestion that you should experiment with it.
I've played around with mine a bit and right now I'm locking it at the top of third, and you can physically feel the lockup - it sounds like it shifted another gear, actually it sounds like there's a slight bog - so I'm thinking about locking it only in fourth. Of course, this will no doubt require some tweaking of the 3-4 shift speed, since the shift extension will be different with the TCC unlocked in third. Your car has way more power than mine, but you may be losing some ET by locking it up so early. Only one way to find out...
Obviously that 3.15 gear is working. I happen to think that is the best all around gearing for the A6.

I have got too much time invested to change things around on the trans now. When it locks up under full power at the track you cannot tell the difference from a gear shift change.
