18 inch wheel setups
What size tires are you guys running that are running 18 inch wheel setups? 18x13 in the rear 18x10 in the front. They currently have 345/35/18 ET street rears and 265/35/18 fronts. The fronts look too small to me though for the big sidewall on the rear wheels. I looked at Toyo R888's for there rear but they only come in 335/30/18 which is only 26 inches tall so it would be hard to find a front tire I think.
Looking for something with good traction with a 1000whp car but will still handle decent on the street.

345 et Street rear. 18x12. 18x10 with 275/40. They do rub a bit. Does OK.

Nope. Those are 325 15s and 225/45/18

I also run the 345/18 Mickey's on the street. Honestly, the just fall off all over the road when I lay into it. "Hooking" a legit 1000hp car on the street without the aid of traction control is not really something that happens.

Mine are hooking 2nd right now no issues.
Suspension, alignment, etc make a huge difference. I can go adjust the shocks and tire pressure so they don't hook at all, or have it so they hook just fine.

Mind sharing your shock and tire settings with the combination that hooks lol. I also have Viking DA shocks and 345 et streets and was looking for a starting reference.

Drag settings per the viking instructions, 18-19psi, alignment at +.3-.4 camber. zero toe. Zr1 rear bar, no front, car raised up as much as possible on stock bolts. Then dial tune in to take out low/mid range timing. No reason to make 1000ftlbs at 4k rpm. Dial timing back until it hooks up down low and by the time you are 5k+ and in the 1k+hp range your going 80+mph and got a good squat already.

That camber setting is positive correct? I'm assuming that when the car squats it changes to zero or negative? What effect does it have on tire wear?

Yes.
No idea on tire wear. Maybe it eats them up, but thats the trade off. Most vettes run pretty negative camber and wear inside of the tire. I would assume zero or slightly positive would wear fairly even. Even like that, my last ET streets wore on the inside first.
Makes the car handle like crap for turning. Its all a trade off. Point is, tires aren't the magic cure to hook, it is a complete system working together. Tires are the biggest factor, but if the car is slammed with no suspension travel, and running -2.0 camber, it isn't going to hook well compared to a setup design to hook. The difference from setting the car up to shift weight makes a huge difference.

I have been running +.1 camber in the rear for awhile and the tires will wear evenly or slight inside ware on both my 19s and the 17s I run. Hooking 2nd gear with out 15s and everything stated above including pulling power is pretty difficult at that 900+whp range.
