Yeah I just stick to my LS3 intake but I'm not looking for more power than what I have now and if so I would just keep it on unless it blew apart.

When you're ***** deep into the build, what's an extra $1000 really matter. That said, I agree that it was still an insane purchase.

Using it because we can spin past 8000 rpm and blow 30 psi if I want to. It was every bit of $4000 before coating it black to match the valve covers and other accessories. It permits for the direct port meth and/or nitrous to be run cleanly. And the damn thing looks really cool.

It will help up top and with a 427 and boost, how much does one really need down low. I did not want to cut my hood or alter the exterior appearance for regular driving. This is all in a base 07 C6, no wide body/booty. Didn't want anyone to see what's coming and stuff sticking out of the hood isn't exactly stealthy.

If we need more power, I'll cut a hood and put some hi rise monstrosity sticking out for events but I doubt I'll ever go to that extreme. It should make plenty of snot with the LME intake.

And I should have listened to you and just bought a GTR or Lambo and sent it out, leaving my car at 800 whpr. I just couldn't leave well enough alone.......

Finally had time and got the new engine in the car. A few things to discuss about the Dart block that I have run into thus far. It's nothing big, but still.

1. The passenger side motor mount bracket would not fit. I needed to either grind down the block or take some material out of the mount. I did the mount as if I messed that up would be a ton cheaper than a new block.

2. Passenger side ground point on the block just above the starter is more forward, I'm making up a new cable to go from the battery to this ground point.

Other than that at the moment, all things are good.

Here is the actual block build out and related items going in at the moment. This includes the very highly controversial Holley intake. Frankly, if it doesn't work out I'll get another one, at the moment the MSD would be at the top of the list.

Oh and need to discuss EVAP delete as well. I know some have deleted, I know the can remove the codes via tune, but do I simply cap the port in the firewall, connect it to a vacuum source, or let it vent to air.

Not all the codes can be deleted. Will still get a check gas cap. IMO not worth it. Just leave it working. Had mine disconnected, got too annoying dealing with warning, so plugged it back in. Its out of the way and doesn't hurt anything.

I'm ok leaving it in, but is it ok to be connected to any vacuum source, aka not at the front near the TB. Otherwise it will have to go

Mine is still on there, though the solenoid is disconnected right now

I could be wrong but I think it depends on the year with later years having the gas cap warning. I tuned a 2014 Camaro and even setup like mine it kept getting the gas cap warning but have literally never had it happen on mine

I'd just try to keep it if you can

You do realize that's less than an 1/8" right? They flex and lose power. They're made in Taiwan, I worked with the owner of the company who produced them.

yeah, so it will depend on if I can simply connect it to vacuum. I guess we will try one way, then the other on this.

Hey I get it, tone of people have hate for the Holley Intake. I will see what it does and go from there.

Yeah I mean it should be fine.. the factory connector (on the LS2 intake anyways) is setup so it feeds the fuel vapor kind of towards the center of the intake, I assume for even distribution. It should still be fine to suck in from somewhere else IMO, might make fuel trims a little uneven or something but I don't think it'll be a big deal

I had a buddy talk to one of the engineers at MSD (they are local to me) and they said it wasn't for use in high boost applications.

True story, but on a N/A car that intake really works well. Better than the Fast. Its just damn ugly.
