Default Alky Control Nozzle Placement

Getting ready to install Alky kit single nozzle. Will be relocating IAT sensor to intake. My only option with the current charge pipe is to place the nozzle in the silicone coupler that attaches to the throttle body. I spoke to Josh at A&A and he assured me that it's fine but I'm still apprehensive about it. Anyone with first hand experience? Thanks folks.

I've had mine installed in the coupler for 3 years now with no issues. Just put some red loctite on it and tighten it down good.

That is the only option you have with that pipe setup. The 1 piece 4" pipe will allow you to install the nozzle before the coupler in the pipe but requires a retune.

Will need to be retuned regardless. Is the 1-piece pipe a better option?

It looks cleaner and gives more room to mount things like nozzles

I had hot start issues relocating the IAT sensor(zr1) to the intake manifold. And yes, I did everything properly and edited the ecm with the zr1 sensor info.

changed it back to the charge tube and voilá no more issues.

Does A&A make it? I don't see it on their website.

Yes A&A makes it in both MAF and SD versions. Call them.

Putting the IAT inside the intake can cause heat soak issues but it can be tuned around. takes more work then just changing the IAT curve.

Seems like it would be easier to buy the 4" pipe pre-drilled for meth and put IAT in the pipe.

He will have to go SD to do this.

I've always drilled and tapped my intake pipe about 6-10 inches from the TB and staggered the nozzles for dual nozzle applications... On my old pumpgas (93 octane) car ran a 3rd nozzle pre turbo at the base of the air filter. I was kinda working with Rodney from AIS testing pre turbo meth injection. I managed to go 8'80's at 155 mph through the 1/4 mile a few years back.

I spoke with Josh about the 4" pipe. It will allow putting the nozzle before the coupler but I will still need to place the IAT in the manifold. I will probably just keep my current pipe and put nozzle in coupler.

I thought you needed to install in the rubber piece and didnt know how to hold the nozzle in place. Snow perf and other hardware suppliers have a threaded adapter made for thin plastic or rubber mounting.

How close can you install the nozzle to the maf sensor?
