Default Big tire problems

I cannot be the only one having problems with my tire setup rubbing the wheel wells terribly. I've ripped out 2 liners with a 325/45r17 and I want to go to 15s but is it better or worse? The slightest bump they rub the inner plastic. The actual quarter is fine but it's still a pain in the ***!

Raise the rear of the car up. You can't have a 28" tire and the rear end slammed. Give the suspension some room to work. You can have the car setup to do what it is doing now, or never rub.

Have you tried raising the rear ride height? That's a 28" tall tire, which people have run successfully. I ran 28" tall briefly and will be doing so again and plan to switch back to them soon. The first time I did, I had a little liner rub on full compression, but as I said raising the ride height should eliminate.

The ride heights stock, I think I can only raise it a half inch as is.

1/2" can make a big difference.

My car is as low as you can go on lowering bolts. I have 28's and it rubs on hard launches. But that's about it.

Anyone have experience with 28" tires on a base narrow body? I'm looking at 305/45R17 ET Street Rs on a C5Z front wheel. My current 295/45s rub some so I figure taller 305s will a bit more.

Get coil overs and you can have it low

I run 28" tall M/T Drag Radials and had to raise my car in the rear. My tires where rubbing at above 160mph. I am pretty sure they grow some at that speed. But by adjusting the rear jacking bolts I stopped it from happening. If you want to stay low and stop the rub I would suggest coil overs. There is always usually a sacrifice for modification. I was just fearing cutting a tire down during a 1/2 Mile pass at 170mph. But you can adjust it and life is good.

stiffer shocks and springs can help but then you sacrafice weight transfer.

Remove the wheel liner or raise the car....or stiffer spring but watching doing that as if you go to much it will hurt traction.

Why is everyone so enamored with keeping the rear liners? Remove them and have the best of both. 28" tall tire and ride height that doesn't look like a Z71 truck.

Its a replica that was discontinued. I had to have work done to it to make it fit.
