New Maggie2650 or Centri?

New Maggie2650 or Centri?
I know there are plenty of threads on centri vs roots. I've always liked the idea of the roots as it's more old school. The potential and low cost of the centri systems is hard to beat, however. Now with Magnuson making a new 2650TVS system I am back at trying to decide which route to go.
Do do you think the slightly larger Maggie will be closer to the ecs1500 set ups in power? I'm not looking at making crazy power but 650rwhp will be the goal. Currently running a stick LS2.

Saw them at SEMA. I'm sure it will make good power but after having both types I prefer the centri on the vette. PD would be my preference on a heavier car. There is also a huge price difference to consider.

I was wondering what the new cost would be. That's about $2500 more than the centri. That's a lot of extra parts. I do like the Maggie but low rpm torque could give traction issues and the biggest I'd cost. Thanks for the response

Any more pics Jody? Man, I would love to get to one of those SEMA shows one day...
I hear you on the PD instant boost/torque thing. The more linear power curve of the centri blowers does give them a huge traction advantage, IMV.

Thanks. I think I'm going to go with my original plan and get in on these great Black Friday specials with ECS1500. Hard to beat the price and so many builds to get good solid info from.

2650 isn't out and who knows if they will do a c6 version. 2300 will make a 850+ but the limit on gm cars is the intercooler and manifold, not the rotors. Bigger rotor pack doesn't fix that. The 2300s will make 650 all day long.

wholeheartedly with this sentiment. Stock Vettes are traction limited; you don't need a PD blower on a Vette. I had a Maggie on my Avalanche and the off-idle massive torque was exactly what was needed to get that 6200 pound pig moving off the line.

The 2650 is a cool piece but will be best suited to trucks, 5th gens and other applications where a larger brick can be fitted with the supercharger moving up. I plan to try a dual TB version on an LS3 416 in a 62 Impala where I'll have plenty of room for dual intakes and hood clearance for the blower.
