HELP!! Belt walkin off!!

HELP!! Belt walkin off!!
Just installed flip drive from ecs with 8 belt and the belt walks off the back of crank pulley immediately on start up. The ac belt is fine no issues just the sc belt. Looking at it close it looks as if my Paxton 1500 pulley is sitting to far back. Is there a spacer behind sc pulley that I could remove where I could move it more forward to have it inline with water pump pulley and crank pulley. Crank appears to be perfectly lined up with water pump pulley and tensioner.

I had iw 8 rib and a 8 rib sc pulley with a 6 rib belt for the longest before I got flip drive and I had noticed the six rib would sit at front sc pulley but and the back of water pump pulley tensioner pulley and crank pulley. That's what's making me thing the sc pulley is out of alignment. I tried to take sc pulley off but once I got bolt out it seemed as if the pulley was lock tight in or had been pressed on. I could not get it to budge. So I stopped before I messed something up.

It could be 2 things. Your blower is too far in toward the engine so you need to put some space in between the middle spacers which would bring the belt back in line with ribs..
The other thing is it may be too far toward the bumper and tilted somehow. Ensure you are using the correct spacers and I would measure the exact distance of your blower pulley to bracket previous to now.. Something had to change.. Trust me I have had plenty of experiences with this.. I am almost 100% you changed something between the distance of the bracket that bolts to the waterpump to the bracket that bolts to the actual blower.. Mine for example is exactly 4".

In the future when making any changes to pulleys I would measure the distance of the first and last rib of the blower pulley to the bracket on water pump. Another point of reference is crank to maybe the timing cover or 1st rib distance to the timing cover and last outer rib to another point of reference. Think of it like aligning your front site to rear site on a weapon like an M4, you need a good zeroed weapon set at correct windage/sight alignment to qualify/ take out the enemy... Well in the SC business you need perfectly aligned pulleys to have any success of going fast.. lol.. I think of it like measure twice, install blower once.. Also you could talk to Chris or Alex @ECS..
Your change was adding 2 ribs at the blower and crank, so step back and try to figure out which pulley went the opposite direction (must meet the crank perfectly) and you will be golden! I have had some experience with this.. I had issues getting laser to hit crank from blower pulley with obstructions in the way so I measured and it saved me $/Belts/etc.. Good luck.

Use the adjustable tensioner bracket. That has to be adjusted properly or this happens. 99% of the time that is the problem on ECS kits going one way or another. If it is walking towards the motor it then the bracket bottom is pushed too far out and needs to be brought in a little.

Feel free to give us a call, all good suggestions here so far, but sometimes it's easier to talk you threw it. 609-752-0321

I've had blower pulleys that are machined for perfect offset, pulleys right from vortech, and now an A&A pulley. All slightly different offset and never throw a blower belt once the tensiorer was adjusted properly. Like Doug said, he can talk you through how to adjust it.
Doug, one thing that was always missing in the instructions was a good explanation of that lower bracket and how to adjust. It would be well worth it IMO to make up a PDF on that part specifically and throw it on the site.

Ok once I got a gear puller and got pulley off it was a small spacer behind sc pulley. Once I removed that it allowed the pulley to slide closer to sc aligning it perfect with the rest of my pulleys. Thanks for all the help
