Default Intercooler suggestions

Ive been collecting parts for my 2200 build on a 2013 gs a6. Any pointers for an intercooler are greatly appreciated.

I have a stock ecs unit I'll sell you if needed.

ECS, A&A or custom. Any will do fine.

We also offer a full size option, frame rail to rail. You need to address cooling at the same time though, but it's a bolt in option, no fab work needed.

People vastly underestimate how good the ECS intercooler is. It is a very nice core/setup. It also allows air to get to radiator which is huge for keeping the car cool.

it's hard to say how much the methanol is saturating my IAT sensor but I will say that with my setup my IATs at the end of a 1/2 mile pull with dual meth (one M10 and one M15) are like 80* or so. i think ECS intercooler working very well at this power level

I think you have proven with your custom 4.5inch core that the stock ECS core can flow well. But how good is it at cooling?

Anyone not running meth that can confirm what temps they are seeing? anyone done any testing?

RPM motors in Ca did back to back testing of our intercooler and the other guys, the results were the same until higher HP where ours flowed more. I do not recall the actual numbers though.

I've ran both. (3 intercoolers total). There was zero difference in IATs/etc with either of the other.

New core shows lower temps for 1/2 mile, but in 1/4 mile no difference. Its just the smaller intercoolers get heat soaked after 1/4 mile and temps start climbing up after that. Doesn't matter what brand, if you want best IATs possible for 1/2+ mile you will want to go to a larger intercooler with any kit. For street or 1/4, any of them work great.

I have a buddy running very very similar setup to me but 402ci setup with D1SC and 850whp with A&A intercooler and it works great on his too with no real differences in IATs for his against mine. I think they both work fine but I like that ECS one doesn't cover the radiator (and my car came with it)
