What is the dreaded drip? The dreaded drip is when you just finish washing and drying your Corvette, everything looks awesome.....You walk around your pride and joy for that one last look and there it is, the DREADED DRIP. It is the water that collects in your tail lights (because GM did not put a seal between the tailight and the body) and then drips out and down the rear bumper 5-10mins AFTER you finish drying your car. It is also the water that collects in the taillights and attracts all the road grime when you first take your Vette for a spin after a good washing.
Southern Car Parts Tail light seals solve the problem FOREVER, guaranteed!!!!!
Our tail light seals take less than 7 minutes to install, come with instuctions, and are pre-cut to be an exact fit every time. Only tools needed to intall them is a T15 Torx head and window cleaner. No glueing as they have a self-adhesive backing.
The seals are made from a high quality rubber that is UV resistant, temp resistant, and water resistant....THE SEALS ARE GUARANTEED FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR CAR. If they ever rot, crack, tear, or fade we will REPLACE THEM FREE OF CHARGE!
You will NEVER see the DREADED DRIP again!!!!!
Price is $24.99.

Melting Slicks
I had these on my C5 and never got around to adding them to my previous C6s. After washing my "new" vert two weeks ago and experiencing the drip again, I ordered these and installed them last weekend.
The installation is very easy and the instructions on the website (link provided in Jim's post above) give you all the info needed.
Now, no more drip. This is a great product.

Bought the seals last year for my "new" 2011. Began installation last week. OOPS. The small black clip that holds the screw - that holds the light in - fell into the car while pushing the light in. Now what? This clip is NOT in the Chev parts list or shown on any diagram. Help.
The instructions did not mention this clip.
ps: had these seals on my '05 and they work great.

I will end up buying these most likely because i hate the drip around all lights. Question i have is what do you guys mean "it looks great." Can it be seen? How does it install exactly?

Melting Slicks
If you look closely, there's a light gray ring around each tail light.
Install is easy and instructions are good... remove Torx screw at top of light, pull light out from body, clean them, wrap the seal starting at top of each light, trim seal as needed, and IMPORTANT: 1.) Remove the small metal clip that the screw goes onto at the top of each light, crimp them so they're tight, and reinstall so they "hopefully' don't get dislodged and fall into the recesses of the bumper and diffuser (you can find suitable replacements at a hardware store... you can guess how i know this), 2.) Use the silicone grease around the seals (available in plumbing aisle at any hardware store) as recommended to aid in the sealed taillight sliding into place, AND 3.).... MOST IMPORTANT IMO... hold the tail light at an angle when reinstalling so as to not push the clip off, and 4.) reinstall TORX screw.
These seals work great and look fine IMO.
