2008 Key Fobs In Stock!
Hi All,
GM Parts House has the first FOB's in the country!
I posted this message the other day about getting them. We now have them in stock. There are some updates....
#1. It does not come with the bottom part of the FOB. I guess that's part of the head of the key. I was wrong, I apologize.
#2. I said you can only purchase in quantities of 2. You can purchase 1 if you'd like.
#3. The 07 rear cylinder is the same, so if you want to get a dealer to trace your 07 key to an 08 key, that's fine.
#4. I will also sell you the key blanks if you'd like and then you can have it traced or cut at the dealer.
Thanks, Gene.
I'd like to announce that I will again be bringing you another much wanted item before any other. Next week I will be receiving 29 sets of 2008 key FOB's. GM Parts House will be the only dealer in the entire United States with these FOB's, but not for long I'm sure.
Here is what I do know and the information I can give you. I have no information in my hands that tells me they will work on any other year. From previous information that was released from others, it is possible. The rest of the info I've figured out on my own.
First, I do not and will not cut any keys as GM's policies are very strict and my policies are very strict as well. I believe I have found an alternative to the key situation anyway.
You can purchase an 08 rear compartment lock cylinder with key(s) for a little over 130. The keys that come with the lock are coded to that lock cylinder, so that takes care of that.
The glove box lock is the same from 05-08. To get this to be coded to the new key(s) you can have the local dealer recode that cylinder.
I have also copied and uploaded the program procedure without having to use a scan tool.
The actual door lock assemblies are the same for 05-08 so you should be fine there. It's just up to the programming and taking care of the glove box and rear compartment lock cylinders if you wish.
Currently I will only have 29 sets to sell and will sell to the first 29 customers to put in an order.
If you'd like to order them it is fairly easy. Go to the front page at www.gmpartshouse.com. Click where it says click here to enter part number search. Use the following part numbers and be sure to use Chevrolet make.
08fob1 - #1 key fob - 91.20
08fob2 - #2 key fob - 91.20
If you wish to order the rear compartment lock cylinder with keys use the following part numbers and be sure to use Chevrolet make.
25865471 - 132.52 (Coupes only)
25865472 - 138.17 (Convertibles & Z06's)
The programming procedure can be found below...
http://www.gmpartshouse.com/installd...fobprogram.pdf
Remember that GM Parts House is bringing these to you first. I do not have any other information at this time. Again, I will not accept single orders of only 1 FOB at this time due to others wanting to have 2.
Thanks, Gene

Gene,
Someone posted these part numbers, I'm curious why your part numbers are different?
fob part# 25854929
fob part #25854930
keys part # 15833937
Do you know what the difference is?
As you may or may not remember, I have an 07 C6 coupe and would like to get the new fobs (#1 and #2) to replace my original fobs and to be able to use the new integrated key to fit ALL my existing locks (glove box and rear hatch).
Thanks,
Steve

link for programing is not working. Neither is your phone. Can anyone cut these keys? My local dealer says he can't cut the 08 key.

Hey guys,
My good friend Matt Munera stopped in today and purchased a FOB for his 05. We figured it out while he was here that the slot for the FOB is the same.
It works on an 05.
It works as FOB #3 with the other 2 original FOB's still working.
Glove box slot is the same 05-08.
The keys are part number 15833937 for 38.47 each.
Thanks, Gene.

Gene,
Many people are asking the same question as to why the part numbers seem to differ? Why doesn't this part number appear in your database: 25854929? Its supposedly the 08 Fob #1. Did you assign your own part number (08fob1)? Just curious.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi All,
It looks like availability is going to be a problem. GM called today and it looks like I am not the only one who recognizes I am the only dealer in the country with them. They wanted to know why I ordered so many and why I ordered them all. I told them I had to take care of my forum patrons. I only have 15 sets left, so if you want some you better order them!
Thanks, Gene.
