This month the 2009 Corvette Helms Manuals are available. I've ordered 40 sets so order until you can't order any more. The same manual includes all C6 models including coupe, convertible, Z51 ,Z06, ZR1, etc.

FOB’s do work from ’05-’07 vehicles, slot in the glove box works.

Note: The 08 key blank is not as wide as the 07 key blank. With that said, the 08 key will not work in your 07 if your key code (cuts) contains any cuts with a #1 in the code. We don’t provide or retrieve key codes for customers who are not local to us. If you are unsure if your key has a #1 in the code please contact your dealer. On a visual note, you can tell if the key has a #1 cut in it if any of the cuts are as wide as the shaft of the key. Those are #1 cuts.

‘08 keys work in ‘07 locks, just need the new key traced. ’05 & ’06 customers will need to purchase a new lock set to use the new key. You can purchase a lock set for the rear compartment and glove box, with new keys for the locks. Use the following part numbers below for those kits.

It is a recommended replacement yes. GM still has the old C5 tensioners available again, but I do recommend to use the C6.
