A correctly oiled filter will not cause any problems. Oiled
filters have been around for 30+ years.
The correct way to do an oil filter is this:
-Clean filter with mild soap and water
-Let fully air dry
-Mist oil on filter
To re-oil a filter, keep oil spray 1+ foot away from filter, spray one
pass on each side. (think of a woman spraying perfume in the
air and walking under it)
If you think you have put to much oil on the filter - Wrap it in
newspaper overnight - That will take off any access oil on a over oiled
filter.
You should have no problems with an oiled filter
however
If you choose the Synthamaxx, you won't loose much if any
noticeable performance, bench flow difference is <5%
