Default 454 Cu In LS7 short block (Darton M.I.D., Callies, Titanium rods, Katech Pistons)

SOLD!!!

I originally had the rotating assembly listed for sale but now the entire package is available. Cost me close to $12K to put together, but I no longer have a car for it to go into.

I've decided to sell this short block assembly "unassembled". I know if I were purchasing these items I would like to do the final machining assembly or have the engine builder of my choice do the work.

Included in this package...

LS7 BLOCK

-the block started as a new LS7 block in march 2008
-It was recently ( last week) resleaved with Darton M.I.D. liners by Steve @ Race Engine Development ( will require finish bore, hone, rod clearance)

-Machine work completed on the block
1) stress relieved
2) machine /install/ "0" deck block
3) includes ARP main studs ( used for align hone)
4) cam bearings installed
5) GM billet main caps

-More info on the Darton M.I.D. system can be found here...

http://www.dartonsleeves.com/midinfo.html

-Darton M.I.D. tech manual

http://www.dartonsleeves.com/mainpage.htm

Rotating Assembly

This assembly is completely balanced and marked for easy install.

It includes the following components..

A) Custom 4.185 katech FORGED pistons

-.927 DLC coated pins
- coated skirts
- ceramic coated tops
-factory deck height install
-uses standard JE Ring pack Part# JE J70008-4185-5
-pistons specs are as follows

11.5cc Dish
1.105 Compression Height (this is “0” deck @ 9.235 Block Height)
4.185 Bore (install these with 0.0043-.0055 P/W clearance)
Designed for 11:1 Compression w/ 69cc combustion chamber/4.125 stroke

NOTE: The PIP mark on the crown of the piston needs to face the REAR of the engine upon installation.

(If standing in front of the engine, ALL pin offsets will be to the left.)

B) GM Titanium Rods

- use standard .927 chevrolet pin
- Rods include ARP fasteners
- Katech rebushed small end with high modulous bushings ( $700 upgrade)

C) Custom Callies Magnum crank shaft ( waited 3 months for this one)

- 4.125" stroke
- clearanced for factory GM titanium Rods
- 58 tooth reluctor wheel installed/welded into place
- gun drilled
- chamfered oil holes
- pilot bearing installed
- completly balanced for the Katech piston/Ti rod assembly ( 1042 grams each)
- long snout for LS7 applications ( can be cut off for wetsump/LSX builds)
- keyed for driving LS7 oil pump OR LS1 style pumps
-drilled for ATi pin to avoid balancer slipage
-standard 350 chevrolet clevite 77 H series bearings both mains and rod.

Crank is 11 lbs lighter than stock. 4.185 pistons weigh less than the stockers ( this thing spins WAYY faster than a stock LS7 motor). Each piston/Rod assembly weighs just 1042 grams!!!!

Actual Cost to Duplicate this package

LS7 block ( new) $2800
Darton M.I.D. liners $1500
Labor to install liners $ 750
ARP main studs $ 185
Align hone( w/ ARP studs) $ 300

Callies custom LS7 4.125" stroke $2000
Katech Custom 4.185 pistons $1272
Katech piston design fee $ 127
Katech skirt coating of pistons $ 165
Katech DLC coated pins $ 280

GM Titanium LS7 rods (street price) $1500
Katech rebush small end $ 710
ARP fasteners $ 150
Piston pin fit/assembly $ 76

Total ------------------------------> $11,815

Rather than set my price high and haggle down, I've come up with a price I feel is fare. Anything less and I'll keep it for a future project.
I'm asking $7,500 for everything pictured/listed here. SHIPPING INCLUDED!!

E-mail me for payment details.

local pick-up available North Denver 80516.

back in town again ( read: I have internet again)...

All pm's have been replied too. assembly is still available.

Guess I should have listed it at $8K then given the buyer $500 off...it would have been sold by now. I guess $4,300 off isn't enough for some

rotating assembly and block have approx. 6,500 miles on them. ( 2,800 or so as a road trip from Denver to Road America and back) Engine was removed to replace the Darton Dry liners with the M.I.D. system.

I couldn't wait for the machine work to be completed in time for the 2009 NCCC convention here in Colorado, so I had to build another motor. My 57 Nomad has an LT5 waiting for it, so this short block is up for sale.

Block will be shipped from Steve at R.E.D. essentially as a "new" block thats has been heat cycled as the NEW M.I.D. liners will require a finish hone/bore left up to the machine shop of the buyers choice.

Rotating assembly has been double packaged and will ship from the Denver area. It will require nothing more than a cleaning, bearings, ring pack (part#'s listed in the O.P.) to install back into the block.

Camshaft/heads etc..are up to the buyer, I'd suggest some that flow some REAL #'s to feed all those cubes!!

OUCH!!!

He could bolt on one of those proven LPE top ends and transfer all his parts to this short block for a lot less than $16K

Yes, it is still available. currently up on auction but I will end the auction early if there are no bids. Price includes shipping to Mizzu land

Feel free to give him my # Daniel. I'll be heading up into the MTS again, friday evening.
