Default Painting the Center Console

I want to paint the center console in my Vette. Has anyone done this? Easier to take it somewhere or do it yourself? If you do it your self what are the steps? If you take it somewhere how much is normal to get charged. I'm talkin about a normal color like black or red. Nothing special. Thanks!

A couple of thoughts on this

I wouldn't waste my time with a spray bomb. Purchasing the proper materials to do one job will probably cost you as much having this done by someone else. If you have sucessfully painted in the past it should come out good if prepared properly. If you don't have much experience painting or plan to use a spray can consider buying one painted or taking it somewhere. Otherwise it will probably come out looking your first time. Good luck!

I took mine out and had the local body shop paint it. Cost me $50 and turned out great.

I painted mine with Satin Black rattle cans, no problems. Pulled the facia and gauge surround, wiped them with acetone, masked as needed and sprayed a light coat, waited a day and sprayed a second coat then installed them. Still looked good when I traded the car 2 years later.
