Default Corvette Specific Curb Alert Install Video

One of the biggest fears with purchasing the Curb Alert is the installation, folks are unsure how "difficult" the installation is.

To make it easy for Corvette drivers, we just created a Corvette specific Curb Alert install package for the C6 that allows you to do the whole installation within 1 hour. Checkout the video on the page below and you can see the entire installation on a 2009 C6.

Corvette Curb Alert

This is a Southern Car Parts exclusive Corvette Curb Alert package for that has everything crimped and ready to go. Run the wires and plug it in to the fuse box under the passenger floor board and you are off and running.

Just select the Corvette Specific Package when checking out and we will "pre-stage" everything for you prior to shipping so you can install it exactly like in the video.

Thanks,

Jim

Ordred 2 today! One for my Vette & 1 for my Son's Camaro. Looking forward to installing them - looks simple enough, even with my two left hands!

Jim, got it installed and works great. I am looking forward to not hitting those damaging curbs anymore. Takes less than an hour to install and tie everything up neat so you don't see wires running everywhere. This think could be used in the rear for backing up as well. Oh no, more money....

Installed mine but I am getting false alerts when driving on smooth
roads. There seems to be a fine line between not detecting the
curb and false alerts. I haven't quite hit the sweet spot yet.

I need to go to a parking lot and play around with it a bit.

I would appreciate any hints you can give me.

False Alerts?? Is this a problem for more than one user? Also any lessons learned on the GS?

Ready to order, but concerned about hearing alerts as I drive.

The trick is getting it calibrated correctly....Follow the instructions in the calibration video below. Make sure you calibrate both distance and the vertical plane.

Curb Alert Calibration Video

I finally got around to calibrating the Curb Alert based on the above
mentioned video a couple of weeks back.

It now works great. Before it was set way too high and random
objects in front of the car would set it off. Turning onto the low
morning sun would cause it go off constantly.

The video helped a lot and was much less confusing than the included
instruction sheet.

My one comment is to install it just like it is shipped. I looked at the
instructions and thought I needed to change the mount type since
the Corvette is a top mount and not a bottom mount. That means
that I screwed up the initial angle settings which caused most of my
problems.

I just recommended it to a friend with a Laguna Seca Mustang with
a splitter on the front.

Interested in the curb alert for my 08C6Z. Does this unit work if the parking block is somewhat off to the side and not directly in front? Where I park, there is a parking block offset to the passenger side wheel. Thanks

The IR Sensor has a pretty wide width that it focuses on. If the block is anywhere on the front bumper, it should see it, however, it won't see around the side. You could always position it other than on the front of the vehicle, though, if that specific parking spot happens to get you a lot. Feel free to call us at (770)919-1433 and we can talk about exactly where it is, and maybe help you figure out the best way to beat that pesky block.

Thanks,
Matt

The install is very straight forward. The instructions are easy to follow. I installed mine in about 45 minuets with the wife distracting me the entire time. I asked to her to help with the calibration so she decided to come out and supervise the complete installation. Good bonding time I suppose. The curb alert works great the install is easy what a great front end saving product.
