Absolutely, that is the beauty of coil overs. Usually guys lower the stock suspension car and then run out of shock travel, the result is a harsh ride when the shock bottoms out.
Coil overs allow you to set the height where you want it without the harsh ride aspect.

I concur....i have my car on phadt featherlight c/o's and slammed to the ground......but still has full shock travel and handles like a slotcar.
