That was great an officer went..send them a cheesecake.....Stay on it and you will get your money.Happened to me for 14,000 dollars. credit card purchase....I don't take credit cards,,,They can charge back with a phone call.

Wow - glad everything worked out.
I'm usually the buyer, not the seller and I've had pretty good luck buying stuff through the forums/ebay using paypal (other car forum). I've had to deal with a couple of cheats, specifically from a group buy and learned my lesson the hard way of what not to do.
There were some good tips here from a seller perspective, so thanks to those members for that.

Lol I'm suprised dade county cops got off their fat asses. Must have been the bal habrour cops around the corner. Generally they are fukin useless outside of south beach down here

I feel the dude was planning to get his money back the whole time. Once the cops showed up at his work he contacted me saying his wife calmed down and is calling the bank back.

Life is complicated enough without subjecting ourselves to dishonest people. Even back in the close knit Message Board days we had scammers. I do think that as the Forums get more popular it is harder for a scammer to stay anonymous and we tend to self police ourselves with members in most every community that we would deal with to help out.
I am totally surprised that a local police force would take the time, so congratulations on that and to them.

A member here ask me to have some C 6 decals cut for him here in my city and he would pay me when he got them,well he never sent message he got them,when I PMd him he claimed he never got them,the tracking number went to his home. Just out $20 and learned a lesson for trying to help someone.
