388 Dart LSNext motor, TFS GenX 260 (LS7) heads, + much more
LS1tech thread that didn't really gain much steam: http://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-ind...85-1141hp.html
Here is a TBSSowners build thread with pics & video: http://www.tbssowners.com/forums/mem...l80-e85-5.html
So a few things have changed since the above threads. I removed the cathedral parts (after initial dyno/break-in session) and replaced with the following LS7 components:
* TFS GenX 260's heads (6-bolt): Trick Flow® GenX® 260 Cylinder Heads for GM LS7: TFS-3271T004-C01 - trickflow.com
* BTR LS7 rockers
* GP Tuning spec'd cam (I wanted a cam that wouldn't rattle my teeth but makes good power)
* Holley Hi-ram 102mm LS7 intake
* Trend 3/8" x .120wl pushrods
Target compression is 10.0:1 with the 70cc heads.
The motor is still at BRE awaiting for me to pick up or be dyno'd again with the new H/C/I combo (have not decided yet).
This motor has simply been an unbelievable project. It was featured online in it's original state: Borowski Built 388 Cube Vortech-Blown E85 LS Next Engine, With Video - EngineLabs
I have every receipt in some fashion whether it be a hard copy or online invoice. Here is a break-down of what makes it all work:
* Dart Iron LSNExt block (4.125 bore)
* Moroso oil pan spacers (allows standard LS oil pans)
* All machining & assembly done at Borowski Race Engines
* Dart specific (Clevitie) throughout the motor
* ARP hardware throughout the motor
* ARP LSN specific head studs (CA 625) including 6-bolt
* Cloyes Race billet true roller Z-chain
* Moroso billet valley cover
* Cometic MLX head gaskets
* Callies Magnum 3.625 stroke crankshaft w/billet 24x reluctor wheel
* Callies Ultra connectiong rods (6.125 length)
* Custom Wiseco racing pistons (-6.9 dish, coated, upgraded pins, P/N AW- 05217)
* TFS GenX 260 cylinder heads (6-bolt)
* BTR upgraded & micro-polished OEM rockers
* Holley Hi-ram intake 102mm LS7 port (PC'd wrinkle black upper)
* GP Tuning spec'd cam (specs only to buyer, also CM 8620 core)
* Trend 3/8 x .120wl pushrods
* Johnson 2110 SLR lifters
* Nitrous Outlet Vapor system
* ATI damper (2010 Camaro or TBSS offset)
* Borowski Race Engine valve covers and wires (wrinkle black PC)
* Precision Blueprinted oil pump (M295)
* ID1300 injectors (bad a$$ E-85 specific injectors)
* Camaro LS3 water pump (not shown)
* Camaro spring tensioner w/billet pulley
* All new sensors
All adds up to over $20k motor.
Asking price - $17k - OR - trading me a possible LS2/LS3 along with cash. Now I'm looking for preferably a stock lower mileage shortblock that is in perfect working order. Possibly a forged shortlbock that is not too wildly built (prefer a rod/piston upgrade but will consider stroker motor).
Current pic as of 05/12/15 at BRE:
And the good stuff 1140hp:
