Just take a stock head bolt and cut 2 or 3 cuts alone the length of the threads. Works perfectly. Arp chasers are a waste of money.

Home made one does the same job. Have used both. But to each their own. Good luck in your search.

Thanks, anyone who has used the ARP chasers would disagree with you

We have a car in the shop with bad cylinder heads bolts threads and order ARP thread chaser we paid like 50. for and what we got was regular thread tap we already had any ways and that is suppose to be their thread chaser, not in my book.

These are the real deal just not as long as we need them to be but can be cut and lengthened .

Actually they wouldn't. But corvette guys will. They all love to spend money on nothing. LOL

These are not designed to fix or cut threads. All they do is clean all the gunk like sealant out of the hole. I have tried the cut bolt method, it will give you results but not like the ARP does

Rob,
Not to sound like a jerk, but how much time do you have invested in posting these threads on multiple forums/ sites, rather than just buying the dam things?
You could've had them shipped to you a few times already

Spending approx $90 for tools when working on a engine worth close to $10k, kinda seems like a "no- brainer"

just my 2 cents

Jeff

^^ you know there are 10 post that didn't even need to be posted here. This is a wanted ad not a "give me your opinion" thread. Like myself i bought a pair 5 years ago, used them once and sold them. Just seeing if someone is in the same boat and I can save a few bucks and pass them on to do the same thing for someone else. Not sure why people feel compelled to post no value information and negativity. If you don't have any for sale, then ok

I've used both on the same engine on the same day (I thought the ARP would be better myself after reading all the love stories). There was no difference in the thread % of the ARP vs. the Stock cut bolts. One cannot outperform the other. Its just not possible.

Good luck saving $20 and wasting your time in this thread. Free bump I guess. A guy who has come to the light is bound to be itching to sell his.

For the folks with the cut bolt argument, save it. I have used the cut bolt before, its not the same. Maybe good enough for some, but I know the ARP chasers work alot better.

I just bought some new ones, but I wont be selling them here lol.

That's what I did when I R&R'd the heads on my 2008 ZO6. Multiple passes with wiping the gunk off each time and a lot of blasting the bolt holes with my air compressor.

If it works it works, and this did.

Can't reuse OEM head bolts in the conventional sense so may as well make a free tool out of them.

Yeah! Who are we.... Those guys who have had both. We know nothing and only accept sub standard costs when assembling our engines to the same specifications.
