Northern Virginia Tuner Shop
I am looking for a good shop around Northern Virginia / DC to do a cam and tune on my car ( and check my headers I think I have an exhaust leak).
If anyone can let me know of a shop in the area I would appreaciate it!!!

If you can, do yourself a favor and take it to Carolina Auto Masters(CAM) in Durham, NC. I drive there from VA all the time to get work and dyno tuning done. I won't go anywhere else anymore.

I like having companies work on my car ....they have insurance and if they screw it up, well they have to fix it...legally.
You cant sue joe shmo that tinkers with your car...thats just the way I look at it.

Thats a great point, never thought about it that way. I have never had a bad experience with a company or a private person. I've always said find someone who you trust and stick with them.

Back on the topic, when you get your car finally tuned your going to love it. We just did an 05 with Vararam, Headers, Borla Stingers and the car felt soo much stronger. Apparently torque management pulls a fair amount of timing and power to soften the impact on the tranny. Once that is corrected the driveability is simply awesome.

Being a successful business owner with 20 years of corporate experience before that I've developed an eye for spotting clients that may be more trouble than they are worth. Clients who come into a partnership with me while in the back of there mind are thinking of suing me before the fact I don't want as customers.

Woodbridge Dynotech
John Selock at Woodbridge DynoTech has the HPTuner software and is known as one of the best in the area on GM's. The last time I talked to him was before the new HPTuner release was out, I know he was planning on getting the new version as soon as it came out, you might want to give him a call. He relocated his shop to the Bealton area which is about 15 miles southwest of Stafford. He is still listed as Woodbridge DynoTech though.
I'll check with him to see what's up and get back to you.
BTW, are you the guy I spoke to that has the BB Bullets that was putting on headers? If so I still want to hear it, I have the Bullets but no headers...

John is awesome but having health issues that are very serious and I don't believe he's still open.
great guy to work with if he is.
tony has a wonderful dyno facility but I honestly don't know much about the tuning capabilities.
ECS adn Vette Docs do well but are quite a drive!!

John Sealock passed away a few weeks ago. Other tuners in the DC metro area are Jeff Lowery at PSI in Glen Burnie, MD. and Jason Leffler at F-Body Central in Linthicum, MD.

Strongly recommend Jeff Creech at Carolina Auto Masters in Durham, NC.
He knows GM rear wheel drive cars and computers. Does great work and great customer service.
Just got my 05 coupe back ( Auto Transmission) 3:15 gears. I had a Honker air intake, Ported Throttle body, Kooks long tube headers with high flow cats and Corsa Sport exaust already installed. Unfortunately, Jeff's dyno was down for maintenance when I took it in so we did not get a baseline run. Jeff added a 224/227/114 Crane cam kit, 2800 torque converter, transmission oil cooler, and DTE high performance differential with 3:73 gears. While it was apart we also added a new ASP harmonic balancer pulley. He dyno tuned it and we ended up with 403 max RWHP and 425 max torque.
Jeff does not sell parts, only installs and tunes so if you tell him what you want to accomplish, he will give you great advice and probably save you some $$$ by not adding parts you may not need.
