Default Diablosport Predator 2008 LS3 support released

Guys, I have been Beta Testing the Diablosport Predator for the 2008 LS3 corvettes, and now that diablosport just released an update publically for the 2008 LS3 Corvettes...I can release my thoughts on it. But first, let me tell you how to update your predator.

You must have the U7194 Predator (MarylandSpeed is having a special, includes FREE usb/serial communication cable and AC Adapter.) To update your predator follow these instructions:
http://diablosport.com/downloads/pre...structions.pdf

Once it is updated, simply follow the directions in the manual:

1) Remove the Radio and Onstar Fuse from your passenger side floor board.
2) Plug the predator into the OBDII diagnostic port right under the dash below the steering wheel.
3) Turn the ignition on (press the ignition button UP). This will give you extended ‘ON’ time.
4) On the Predator, choose Performance Tune
5) Choose the Transmission Type
6) Select the DiabloTune
7) The Predator will now backup your original stock Tune.
8) Once it’s finished backing up the tune, click ‘continue’ on the predator.
9) Now, Install the tune.
10) Follow the onscreen instructions of. You will be asked to Turn the Car off, then turn the ignition back on. After this, Press continue…the tune is now installed.
11) Drive for 40-50 miles to calibrate the tune…and blam.

Now, Onto my findings. As usual, the Diablo Tune was VERY noticeable. I have Vararam, SLP Loudmouth 1 exhaust….down low I can finally EASILY break my tires loose. Going 1mph, and mashing the gas = instant burning tire. Up top when my vararam’s full effects take place (above 40mph)…you can really tell a difference. Also, my exhaust note changed nicely…I also don’t have any of the popping when I slow down. I had Lew (06MonteSS) help me make a custom tune for my car, and from what I drove last night…it made a night and day difference (same as his tune did for my diablosport 2007 corvette). I really suggest getting hooked up with him for making you a custom tune.

I think it is really worth the price of the unit. I noticed a power increase.

They haven't officially released a dyno yet, but I know I can really feel a difference in my Vararam, Catback, Predator setup...especially since 06MonteSS made a custom tune.

well i'm taking mine in because it feels slow as hell anyway (with TC off I can smash the throttle in 1st @ 3k and it doesn't even rip the tires free), if all checks out i'll prolly get a pred

I highly suggest it...talk to 06MonteSS and he will get you a good custom tune for your car. You won't be sorry. As I said above, I can be in 1st gear...going 1mph...mash it...tires break lose instantly. Yesterday I downshifted into 2nd from 4th...usually it just downshifts and im on my way...this time it broke the tires lose. I also chirp 1-2...2-3..

As far as I know it just has to do with '08 LS3 support and '08 LS7 support.

yeah, you won't ever get a "full rundown" of everything that they change in the tune...

but for a generic/brief rundown...

air/fuel and timing is changed, and TM is removed... amongst MANY MANY other parameters...

Won't do me much to update my U7194 to this crom level since I have an 07, but I still like my Predator tune.
