You need to get your transmission tuned ASAP. Do not get on it any more until you have it tuned.

As Taylor@Dallas Performance told me:
Over revving the engine is extremely hard on the engine. It only takes a couple of times for that to happen to create serious damage.
So please do yourself a favor and don't beat on it til you get this fixed.

No, it's definitely not normal.

Did you (or somebody) change the gear ratio in your tune? Or did you just have the gear swap done and that was all?

I changed my ratio to the 3.42 and bounced off the rev limiter a few times. It is all about the tuning. I had mine screwed up and was out by about 12 %.

Although you don't do a speedo correction on a C6 with a gear change--you must to a
"shift point correction" when changing gears-----This cannot be done with most handheld tuners--You need someone with HP tuners or EFILIVE----A simple mail order tune would do it--Many mail order tuners on the forum for like $150

Yes, you do need to make a speedo correction as well.

Well in EFILIVE a stock C6 has the rear end ratio entered as 1.0 ----and the e ECM pulses per mile as 771-----EVEN if you change the rear ratio to 3.42 --the pulse per mile remain as 771-----This tells you that a rear end correction is NOT required Also having the stock rear end ratio at 1.0 in the STOCK tune tells you it's not required----In EFILIVE there is a box that is checked with an x for "transaxle" Any transaxle sensored speedo does not require a change in the tune for a different rear ratio
Don't know what software you are using But I always verify the speedo with a GPS and have never been wrong yet----
If you made the change on a manual trans car sure you would never know the differernce because even if you changed the rear raito the pulses remain the same at 771----But on an automatic car---the auto trans uses the TRANS output pulses to make the trans shift correctly --the speedo pulse remains 771 but the trans output pulses go way crazy like 2636 and you''ll get a component slipping code and it won't shift correctly

An auto C5/C6 requires the adjustment shown here when a different rear end ratio is installed when using HP Tuner software.

Unknown how EFILive deals with that. But something would have to be done as there is a speed/rpm relationship that the auto tranny uses to shift which is altered when a different ratio is used.

Just because HP shows that you can enter different numbers in that file does not necessarily mean that it's required----As I said yes you can change the rear ratio with efilive but even if you do the pulses per mile always remain 771----HP does NOT show you the pulses per mile or per kilometer as does EFILIVE--- The REAL speedo table has at least 10 different tables in EFILIVE HP only shows you 2-----Tune as you wish---My experience with tuning 100's of C5's and C6's is that I never make or am never allowed to make a correction with EFILIVE software with a gear change-----only tire size changes--

Early on in the attached thread you will see what Subfloor was trying to tell you about gear changes with auto transmissions using HP Tuner software. Hopefully you do not have to go back and correct those "hundreds of C5s and C6s" that you have tuned.
