Back pressure pop pop pop when letting off gas? TUNER QUESTION...
Have an LS3 in an older car (bone stock motor) with 2.5 exhaust when I let off the gas I hear the pop pop pop sound (around town it gets anoying)? Would a bad tune cause this and a good tune fix it? I also have a crossover pipe (H type) to relieve the back press but still pops? The mufflers are chambered type in the stock location.

would that be true for a car thats supercharged, full exhaust no cats making 615 hp.
I always though that the the less restriction in the exhaust, the more apt it would be to do this.
not being a smart ***, just asking cause mine pops like a racecar all the time now that I have it finished, and the car was tuned. didn't know if i should have my tuner drop some timing on the decel to kinda help that out some.

You can also mess with the DFCO settings, but that will often affect mileage in a negative manner.
Thanks

Increasing DFCO spark will clean it up a bunch and not affect mileage. All you're wanting to do is keep it from pulling the timing into the negative when you decel.

Love it on mine also. NPP stays open 9pulled fuse) and it pops like crazy even backing off the gas at 2500rpm's in 2nd or 3rd. No need to hit the rev limiter........LOL!

same here, pop, pop, pop. other than being a bit annoying (depending on preference) does it hurt anything mechanically?
