C6 Throttle Body

Melting Slicks
how did you clean it and what did you use to clean it? if you took material away from the area where the throttle blade rests it can cause this type of issue.

Rubbing a towel over an aluminum body doesn't do anything.

C6 Throttle Body
I just purchased a Throttle Body 12570790 for my 2005 Corvette and was wondering if this needs to be tuned once replaced? Diagnostics showed this part being damaged and not sure if I need to take it for tuning.
Thank you all.
Thank you all.

Simply cleaning your T-Body will make your ECM have to re-learn the fuel trims---Because you are now getting more idle airflow then when it was clogged---Normally this happens very quickly like 10-15 minutes of idling for the idle to learn out and maybe 50 miles of driving for all your P/T fuel to learn out
If you've driven over 50 miles and it still hangs at 2000 RPM's It sound more like a "vacuum leak" than anything else---which typically will never learn out---
I would check for vacuum leaks around your T-Body---Easiest way is to start the car and spray some "brakeclean " all around the T-Body seal where it bolts onto the manifold
IF the engine tries to die when doing this --you have a vacuum leak---
Get a new T-Body seal and be gentle when bolting it back on--in a cross pattern
